Be prepared for emergency first aid situations at work The Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification, specifically designed to benefit Learners by preparing them to deal with a range of emergency first aid situations and/or take on the role of emergency first aider in the workplace. This one day course is for people who have a specific responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities, to provide help to people in a range of emergency first aid situations. During the course, learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of emergency first aid situations, including: managing an unresponsive casualty, CPR, choking, shock, wounds and bleeding and minor injuries. At ECS, we also include the optional session on Management of life-threatening catastrophic bleeding as standard. Topics covered include The roles and responsibilities of an emergency first aider Assessing an incident Managing an unresponsive casualty CPR and defibrillation Recovery Position Choking Seizures Shock Wounds and bleeding Minor injuries (incl. Cuts, grazes and bruises; Minor burns and scalds) Management of life-threatening catastrophic bleeding Note: The Emergency First Aid at Work content aligns with Health and Safety Executive (HSE) syllabus Assessment Methods 4 x Practical assessments 1 x Theory assessment (Multiple Choice Question Paper). Eligibility Learners must be at least 14 years old on the first day of the training and be able to perform practical tasks at floor level. There are no other formal entry requirements Qualsafe strongly recommend that Learners have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy and numeracy or equivalent.

3 Hours Description: This 3 hour course provides your first aiders with the opportunity to practice and update their practical skills, refresh theoretical knowledge and ensures that they are kept up to date with the latest first aid guidelines. Assessment and Certification Students are continuously assessed throughout the course. Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation and care of the unconscious requires physical effort. Learners should be capable of working with casualties at floor level. Certificates are issued on all first aid courses which includes the annual refresher course date. The HSE strongly recommend that all First Aiders undertake annual refresher training of at least 3 hours per year. Emergency First Aid at Work Level 3 regulated course

Our one day Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course covers all the subjects required by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) to make this an approved course. However, if you have particular risks in your workplace please let us know in advance of the course so that we can tailor your time with us to include training in those area.  This course provides basic life saving first aid skills and knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations, covering: Adult resuscitation (CPR) Burns and scalds Choking adult Communication and casualty care Defibrillator (AED) prompts and pad placement Minor and severe bleeding Role of the first aider (including knowledge of health and safety regulations) Seizures Shock Unresponsive adult Catastrophic bleeding can be added as an optional module for workplaces that require it following your first aid needs assessment.

The qualification is aimed at learners already working or preparing to work somewhere where they have a responsibility for the welfare of children or infants.
