Our pottery and art studio offers pottery courses, glass fusing classes, art classes and many more creative workshops close to Warrington, Wigan and at Helen’s within easy access of Manchester and Liverpool.

At our MA Graduate Show 2025, postgraduate students from Arts University Plymouth will showcase a variety of exciting and dynamic research projects undertaken within our specialist postgraduate community of practice, working across specialisms that include painting, drawing, sculptural installation, moving image, design and ceramics. Work will be displayed in MIRROR gallery at Arts University Plymouth's Tavistock Place campus, and at our Studio 11 Building, on Regent Street (just a two minute walk from our main campus). A 4 week intermediate pottery course at our pottery studio in Golborne, Warrington. Phoenix Pottery and Art Studio offer a variety of art, craft and pottery classes. A regular calendar of pottery courses for beginners plus pottery studio space for experienced ceramicists to work on their own projects. At Clay With Carole we offer group classes for all ages and abilities in hand building in clay. During this thorough and enjoyable 6-week evening course you will learn how to prepare your clay, and the main methods of hand building. You will be introduced to a variety of decorating techniques, ceramic materials and glazing. Each week you will make your original pieces using a different technique of hand building and through the duration of the course you can experiment with decorating techniques, application of ceramic materials, and a range of glazes.

Jan is not only a world renowned wildlife artist she is also an experienced and enthusiastic teacher. She has her own method of creating the bronze sculptures which have sold all over the world but also has the flexibility to help you develop your own signature methods and style. You want to make a sculpture. There is an artist inside you. You have the idea and you have the creative urge.

In this fun and focused session you will learn how to throw pots with a wheel each and have the opportunity to paint what you make for firing. Carole will demonstrate the process and teach you the technique. The session is suitable for all including children age 7+, couples, friends, families, and small groups.

In this wonderfully creative private session, you will make, decorate, and glaze your unique hand-built pieces from clay for firing. You will learn a range of hand building techniques to create beautiful pieces that you can cherish forever. Examples of what you can make include vases, dishes, plaques, tiles, plant pots, candle holders and much more.

Electric Kilns and Firing - an online course by Tim Thornton. The course covers firing and maintaining your kiln, and the effect firing has on clays and glazes

If you mix up your own glazes for your pottery, this course will teach you all about food safety and glaze stability, and understand the underlying chemistry.

We would like to welcome you to a creative Saturday afternoon with our team and hand build up to three pieces in our creative studio in Angel. No prior knowledge or skills are required.  What is included:  Instructions and guidance by our team members Sculpting kit and tools A variety of flowers and greenery to choose from for your creative imprints Glass of bubbly or floral lemonade and light refreshments Fun and relaxing start to your weekend It is a small class so we can pay attention and guide you all the way through the class. We will fire your pieces and they will be ready for collection in about three weeks after the class.
