(8-10yrs) Tap uses a different skill set to Ballet and Jazz as the emphasise is on creating rhythm and sound using footwork. Due to the nature of Tap, the physicality of the work is mainly focused on the legs, hips, knees and ankles and of course those tapping feet! Tap teaches a great sense of rhythm, timing and musical awareness. (9-10yrs) Ballet develops posture, strength, musicality and grace. Each dancer is unique and each body is unique and we teach the children to work within ones own body. Our Ballet classes include some set structured technical work from the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance syllabus, along with some creative movement. All children have the opportunity to take ISTD Ballet exams when they are ready to be entered. This is a step by step digital workshop that will be sent directly to your inbox for you to keep forever. All my workshops are suitable for beginners and the more experienced artist. I have 25 years experience delivering workshops to all ages and abilities. I use raku sculpture clay and finish with oxides but any clay can be used including air dry clay for people who do not have a kiln.
