Fun with felt flowers gives beginners all the basic information to learn felting around a resist. In the three and a half hours, students will make two different flowers, using different techniques, along with different centres. Workshops start at 10am. I can teach up to nine people here and I can also travel within 20 miles if someone wants a group of friends (minimum 5 participants) in their own house or school. Fabulous idea for a hen party! Please note, though, I do charge mileage. If you have a larger group (say WI or class parents) I am happy to run workshops for up to 20 people in your own venue. My workshops are not timetabled, so there is a great deal of flexibility on dates - just get in touch and we'll sort out a day to suit us both!Please also check out my other listings for Workshops in a Wallet. There is a reliable taxi service from Horsley station for about a fiver or I can collect just 3 people! Millinery taster class You will be given a overview of millinery materials, techniques and styles and walk away with a fascinator.

'Frame Loom Weaving - A Comprehensive Guide to Becoming a Weaver' is a self-paced online course which will teach you everything you need to know to become a confident weaver from the comfort of your home. The course will guide you through materials and equipment, how to set up your loom for weaving, ten different weaving techniques and all their variations including rya knots, soumak, pile weave, pick & pick, weaving circles and many more, finishing and trouble shooting. On enrolment you gain lifetime access to the course and our Facebook support group, exclusively for students enrolled on the course, where you can seek advice in a supportive, creative environment.

About this event This class is going to look at portrait painting using photographs to explore how to achieve volume, we are currently working in Grisaille (many greys) and will go on to look at glazing and flesh tones in the upcoming months. This class has no model and intends to give some experience before moving on to the model. Please bring a canvas or board. It is also good to have your own paint brushes if possible. Some boards and canvas's are available to purchase if you are unable to get one in advance The works has boards, brushes and canvas for a few pounds.
