Learn how to produce cyanotypes on fabric. From how to coat your fabric and expose it, to how to create repeat patterns - enjoy producing fabric samples you can use for clothing, soft furnishings, crafts and artwork.
An exciting & enriching course designed by artist and art educator Lucy Perry to immerse students in the magical world of cyanotypes. Lucy offers you a creative approach to this accessible and fascinating alternative photographic technique.
A unique opportunity to learn the cyanotype process and develop your own body of work. Each two day course will focus on a particular cyanotype skill and will allow participants to develop their own ideas and imagery. Lucy is an experienced teacher (previously Head of Photography in school), she is able to teach you the techniques you need and mentor you to create your own work.
Originating in the mid C19th cyanotypes were one of the earliest forms of photography and uses two iron compounds to create light sensitive surfaces, without needing a camera. It produces a unique Prussian blue image. Once you have mastered the basic process there are many ways to develop the techniques to produce exciting and creative personalised work.
