<p>Everyone is here to enjoy themselves and have fun doing something unique &ndash; we pride ourselves on having a friendly and open group of people to work with (new friendships are often formed here!). These classes are suitable for beginners and those with some skills already. We will meet you at your level and teach what you need.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Weekly classes with Emmie run on Wednesday and Thursday evenings and also Thursday mornings. These sessions are 2 hours long each and should be block booked (six sessions &ndash; flexible start and finish point). Once you have purchased your block of 6 sessions, you will be given access to our calendar where you can book onto the sessions you wish to attend. Classes do not have a fixed set of skills, we will teach you what you need to learn to create your design &ndash; so the skills will be tailored for you on an individual basis. If you don&rsquo;t have a design in mind Emmie will help you to create something and learn the basics, so don't worry about ideas if you don't have any yet.</p>
<p>6 sessions cost &pound;120 plus the cost of your metal - the metal costs are to be paid on the day of your class. The cost of the metal depends on your designs and will probably be much less than you expect. At the end of the sessions you can expect to leave with a couple of pieces of silver jewellery &ndash; unique to you!</p>

We offer a wide range of experience days to cater for groups up to twelve, of any ability and will provide tutors to fit your group size so whether you want to come on your own, with a loved one, or as a larger group such as a stag or hen do or team building with colleagues, then get in touch. Some of the items we aim to make are- Coat hooks, toasting folks, fire pokers, chestnut roasters, door knockers, curtain poles are just a few to mention and this is discussed at the time of booking.<br /><br />Whilst experiencing an exciting ancient tradition you will have loads of fun and most importantly a masterpiece made by yourself to proudly take home. We also offer further experience days for those that wish to broaden their skills further. PPE will be provided along with a warming lunch, snacks and drinks all included.</p>

Things like threading and filling bobbins, as well as how to clean the machines and things to check when it doesn&#39;t sew properly. If you have a machine and would like some help getting to know your machine, I am now offering one to one sessions in the studio.</p>

Join artist Julie Galante for this course designed to nurture your creative practice. Together we’ll explore ways to create work that reflects your individual interests, passion, and point of view, no matter your experience level. The course content is delivered over six live Zoom sessions, in a small, welcoming group with plenty of opportunities for interaction. Additionally, there will be optional (but highly recommended) assignments to complete in between the live sessions - assignments designed to get you stuck in to your creative practice in new and interesting ways.
During each live session, there will be a demonstration focusing on a particular aspect of visual art - this will include various materials, subjects, and considerations such as composition, theme, mark-making, layering, and so on. We will also have a look at everyone’s recent creations, with celebration of the triumphs and suggestions for moving forward with work-in-progress. Together we’ll explore techniques including drawing, painting, mixed-media, and collage, but you don’t have to work exclusively in these media to take part - all creative disciplines are welcome.
Each participant will be encouraged to deepen their explorations in whatever direction interests them most - be it a series of drawings, written reflections, sketches, collages, photographs, mixed-media pieces, or a unique, personal combination of all these.

This course has been designed to give you a taste of what it is like to study with us virtually, as well as giving you tailored support for your university application. You will get a virtual art university experience, and a chance to meet some of the lecturers for the subjects you are interested in studying.
You’ll get an insight into how our January-start degrees are taught, how you submit work and how you can develop your skills. This course has been designed to help you feel equipped to commence your studies in January 2025, on one of our January-start degrees.

Each of the below sessions will consist of a lecture, workshop or project alongside the chance to ask any questions about making your application..

Session 2 - Wednesday 20 November 2024, 3 hrs / 8:45am - 11:45am
Experience a live lecture from Jason Hirons, our Course Leader for Distance Learning. This interactive session will give you a preview of what it's like to be part of our dynamic online distance learning course, engage with course content and ask questions in real time.

Session 3 - Wednesday 18 December 2024, 3 hrs / 8:45am - 11:45am
Enjoy an informative and engaging session led by the Adam Levi, our Senior Learning Technologist and all-round expert in tools for digital education. In this session, you'll gain valuable insights into navigating Canvas, our online learning platform, ensuring you feel confident in managing your coursework, accessing resources, and participating in discussions. You'll also have the opportunity to engage in an interactive workshop designed to enhance your learning experience.
As a student on one of our January-start degrees, you’ll join a truly global community of creative learners. This hybrid degree allows you to complete your first year of studies remotely by July 2025, before taking a short summer break and then continuing straight on to the second year of your chosen degree, studying in-person at our city-centre Plymouth campus, in September 2025. This option is available for the following degrees:
