About your tutor
Priti loves to sew. Her mum was a seamstress and she used to love to watch her work. She found time during lockdown to get creative and started sewing bunting, cushions and tote bags but quickly moved on to making clothes for herself and her children. Now there is nothing that Priti won’t have a go at sewing. She really enjoys creating something beautiful and new from a simple piece of fabric. 
Teaching others has been part of Priti's day job for many years. She is now excited to be using these skills to help people get sewing and have some fun along the way!

You will learn how to create a suitable design, practice cutting it out of lino,&nbsp;and select some products to print onto. You will&nbsp;take home your original lino design to use at home,&nbsp;a range&nbsp;of festive products you select for printing - such as&nbsp;greeting cards, gift tags ready to personalise, or gift wrap -&nbsp;plus a framed print of your original design to hang at home, or to give as a unique gift.

Spaces on our workshops and courses are limited so that our creative team of artists and makers can offer you the hands-on help and support you need to make the most of your time with us.&nbsp;

Minimum number no refund policy
To ensure we can always pay our creatives a fair fee, we require a minimum number of bookings for each workshop and for this reason bookings are non-refundable. Should we have to cancel due to low numbers, we will offer you the option to swap to an alternative date or workshop, or to request a refund.
We do our very best to avoid cancellations. Since we often get late bookings, we keep our workshops on sale for as long as possible. We realise that some of you travel from afar, so if you book a space and have not yet received an email confirming your workshop is going ahead and need to make plans for your trip, please get in touch before booking any travel or accommodation so we can update you on booking numbers. Join us for a FREE Tea 'N Chat with NICKY SIMPSON who will demo and lead a mini workshop on Surface textiles and talk about her online courses.

Nicky's aim is to show how easily accessible surface textiles techniques can be for every level of student and how it can be delivered in a fun and engaging way.
She will also introduce you to her online and face-2-face courses with an opportunity to ask questions.

'Marbling'
Marbling is great way of introducing a quick and easy surface technique if you have little to no prior experience. Especially good for students who will get immediate exciting and inspiring results.!
A beginner friendly workshop to produce great artwork for textile projects.

If you want to join in you will need: 
tray of cold water (min 5cm deep)
oil paint 2 colours
white spirit
glass jar and brush to mix/have a cloth for spills and a table cover
pipette 
paper or fabric to marble

Join us for a Tea ‘N Chat session with Julia Burrows, who will be demonstrating and lead a mini workshop on how to adapt a sleeve from a commercial pattern or block/sloper.
Julia will show you step by step how to create new sleeve styles and transform existing patterns with simple alterations. You’ll see how small design changes can open up endless possibilities for variation.

This session also introduces Julia’s brand-new Bite-Size Pattern Courses, launching 1st November - The Saturday Pattern Club.




💡 Get involved! You will be sent a half-size sleeve pattern template in advance to download and take part in the workshop alongside Julia.
A perfect taster for anyone curious about pattern cutting and keen to add fresh ideas to their sewing skills.

If you want to join in you will need:
½ sleeve patten.
HB or 2H pencil 
Rubber
Ruller 
Tape measure 
Scissors (paper)
Cellotape 
A4 paper ideal white and another colour but not essential

This Tea 'N Chat is lead by JULIA BURROWS, an experienced pattern drafter and apparel designer, who worked as a successful designer and pattern cutter for 30 years on several brand ranges in South Africa and for suppliers to Marks & Spencers in Britain. 

She has since taught pattern cutting and manufacturing for Fashion Enter in London and now works with Textiles Skills Centre, for whom she develops online courses and leads on-line and in-person pattern and sewing workshops.

This is a chance to explore coloured pencil drawing for those who have never put pencil to paper. &nbsp;Also a wonderful course for those newer to drawing and wanting to learn the basic techniques.
Included are SIX instructional videos:
&lsquo;Putting Pencil to Paper&rsquo; &ndash; A complete introduction to paper, pencils, sharpeners, erasers, setting up for still life and working from photographic reference. (45mins)

A set of notes, guidance on paper and pencils to use and an instructional video for each part of the course are included. All you need is a selection of Faber Castell Polychromos pencils, good quality white drawing paper and a few pencil case items.

Coloured pencil is a marvellously versatile medium and it is genuinely an easy medium to master when you have learned the basic techniques. You will learn how to layer and blend and various other &lsquo;tricks&rsquo; in these easy introductory lessons to produce beautiful illustrations or artworks.
