Do you love books? Do you love the feel of a new book, the smell of the pages, and the way they look on your shelf? But do you wish that you could create your own books? We have just what you need! Our Bookbinding Workshop is a beginner course that will teach you how to make canvas bound book and even a Japanese bound or journal style book too. We provide all of the materials and full instruction is provided by our expert staff.

What you'll do Have you ever wanted to create your own unique furniture? During this one day experience you’ll transform a pallet into a one-off piece of furniture for your home. First you'll find out how to source materials and discover the tools and techniques you’ll need to prepare your pallets for upcycling. Once Scott has introduced you to the workshop space, you’ll use a mix of hand and power tools to create your own piece, from a shoe or wine rack to a bird feeder, storage box or even a small bookcase. With your experience host's guidance, you'll leave with your own finished upcycled item. All materials, tools and safety equipment will be provided for you on the day. Dates for 2022: Feb 5,6 March 5,6 April 23,24 June 25,26 Sep 10,11 Oct 29,30 Dec 10,11 Facilities Toilets WiFi Refreshments available Parking COVID-19 guidelines Everyone will need to confirm fitness each day. Everyone will have their temperature taken at the beginning of each day. Hand washing will be compulsory at set times during the courses. Face masks will be compulsory during the specific parts of the course where you will be breathing heavily due to exertion. The remainder of the course we will have face shields available as an option to facemasks. Face shields will be provided. But please bring your own face mask. On the day You don't need any previous woodwork experience, just some enthusiasm! Please wear old clothes (or something that you don’t mind getting damaged or torn) and sensible, closed toe footwear. Work boots are recommended. Tea and coffee will be available throughout the day, but please bring along your own packed lunch. Course Location courses can be either in Glastonbury or at Scott's own workshop near the Bath and West show grounds (BA46QN) and will be confirmed.

Our Pedicure course is designed to enable candidates to offer a professional pedicure service to the public. Pedicures have always featured as a popular service in salons. Pedicures are a very popular and relaxing treatment to do; you will learn how to adapt this treatment from a basic pedicure to a luxury treatment. This course covers the entire pedicure procedure using the Spa Ritual line of products. The course is focused on the natural nail, foot and lower leg anatomy and physiology for a comprehensive understanding of the pedicure process. THE REQUIREMENTS No experience is necessary to attend this course. Salon attire must be worn during the course. Student must have clean nail without enhancements. To ensure maximum practice students will be required to work on each other throughout the day. We are beyond excited about our first-ever Arienas Collective exhibition! The exhibition is taking place in the Scot-ART Gallery 1 on the 3rd floor of St Margaret’s House, 151 London Road, Edinburgh EH7 6AE from Saturday, 24 - Saturday, 31 May 2025 and is open from 11am-5pm each day. The exhibition is free to enter and you can find out more about our theme, who will be exhibiting, and opportunities to meet our creatives in person here. We will be exploring how creatives balance making art they love with art they earn a living from. The exhibition will feature original artworks, alongside live demonstrations, taster workshops and talks. You can see a full list of our Exhibition Talks and Tasters here. This is where to book spaces for a Macrame Workshop with Lucy Wayman Come along to a macrame plant hanger workshop in the gallery, no experience needed, where you'll be guided through the basics of macrame and leave with a beautiful hanging creation for your home!

Craft workshop using a variety of pre-cut glass materials including rods, frit and frit balls to transform into your choice of a bowl, hanging or free standing wave form. Fused Glass Workshop – Flower Garden Designs I want to share my 15+ years of experience with you. This fused glass workshop is held at my Derbyshire studio and gallery space in the middle of Wirksworth near Matlock. About this fused glass workshop Whether you create a design inspired by wild flower gardens, fields of Poppies, a layer of Bluebells or hills covered in Heather you’ll enjoy playing with glass shapes and textures to create your own abstract and colourful creation. Choose from 3 options of pre cut glass bases and create either a bowl, sculptural wave or hanging panel. Round Bowl – approx. 17cm. Wave – approx. 32cm across x 7 tall. Round Hanging – approx. 18cm Get making by snapping glass rods, sprinkling crushed glass frit and place frit balls for your colourful flower blooms. The main thing to remember is to have fun! You will play with different types of decorative glass elements and learn a little about how the kiln firing will change them. Simply complete your design during the session and leave it at the studio for me to fire, finish and clean up for you. We will make arrangements to pick up a few weeks later or I can post your finished piece at cost. I will talk through all the Health & Safety in the session but I want you to know now, you will be handling precut glass pieces, they have pointy ends but with the right handling, they won’t hurt you. Recommended for ages 13+, all under 16s to be accompanied by a paying adult. I would still recommend considering supporting one of the independent cafés, restaurants and pubs who would welcome some extra business in return for a comfort break. If this is not possible and your cancellation has been more less than 21 days in advance of the event, a refund can be offered. If your cancellation has been made less than 21 days before the event and you can not transfer onto a future date, every effort will be made to fill your place, from further advertising and/or the reserves list. If your space can not be filled by another attendee and you are unable to arrange a replacement yourself unfortunately, no refund can be offered. In the unlikely event that Stevie has to cancel a class, you will be offered either a full refund or a transfer to another date.
