This workshop/seminar is designed for counsellors, psychotherapists, psychologist and art therapists working with, or planning to work with members of the LGBTQ+ community. Participants will be able to explore and augment their cultural awareness and competency for working with LGBTQ+ clients. This workshop will provide a a safe and supportive space to learn and will include experiential exercises as well as taught elements. The workshop will be delivered by Claire Black, Gestalt Therapist/Supervisor in private practice and Counselling Coordinator at LGBT Health and Wellbeing. 

Join us at Stitching Kitchen for a day of Wet Felting Fun - you will create your own unique bowl from merino wool fibres.

The three day course allows us to focus on the more refined shapes of a knife specifically designed for cooking, on this course we will forge a matched pair of knives, a small pairing knife and a larger kitchen knife both with a hidden tang and two part handle in the Wa style.  The extended length of the course allows students to focus on getting a clean shape and flowing lines as well as a thing and practical blade for cooking. Please note this course is only held once a year.  I run a strict cancellation policy. If you cannot attend the date you have booked please contact me within three weeks and I will rebook your course for free, If you contact me after this deadline you will lose your place. You might like to linger after we close and take a look at the local crafts and antique shops, or take a stroll around the village green just outside of where we will be for the day. It is really quite unique. Getting there: Esiliy accessible by the M4 and M3. There is free weekend parking close to the venue. The nearest train station is Winchfield. About this event This is a 2 month program during which you will make a body of work, advertising and publicity during the first month and exhibit it during the second month. Includes 4 weekly tutorials, flyer design, help with hanging, private view, a 4 week exhibition, no commission on sales, and help taking the exhibition down. You can book this as a group of any size. Peter is the Theatre Manager for Cranleigh Schools and has worked as the Technical Manager producing shows and events for Tring Park School for the Performing Arts, as well as touring with Encore Dance Company. This specialised course gives students a glimpse behind the curtains at the theatre, and the basic skills they need to work in this industry. It's perfect for anyone who wants to work in crucial behind-the-scenes roles in theatre, as each day contains practical training on subjects like lighting, design, sound, projection, setup and operation. In fact, you'll be taught the process of putting on a show, and get hands-on experience when you use what you've learned to run the technical side of the live shows at the end of the Academy! ‍ WHEN AND WHERE? The Technical Theatre Course takes place in Cranleigh Arts Centre, around 20 minutes from Guildford.
