Learn to make a patchwork log cabin style cushion. We will create a log cabin cushion with a twist as you begin with a picture or piece of embroidery at its heart. During the day you will learn the basics of log cabin construction and some special hints and tips to help with using up cycled cloth and old clothing in the patchwork. We will also cover choosing colours to make your cushion really beautiful.
You can also make this a memory cushion as a keep sake, feel free to bring any fabric or old clothing which remind you of someone special.
What's included in the price?
All the fabric you need to construct and embellish the cushion. Access to the Stitching Kitchen stash of reclaimed and vintage fabrics. Full instruction and guidance from Hannah. A cuppa and a slice of cake. You will go home with a finished cushion complete with cushion pad.
What to bring along?
You may wish to bring along sentimental fabrics to include and perhaps a stitched / printed fabric centrepiece. Feel free to bring your own sewing machine but don’t worry you can borrow one if you need to.
You don't need to bring anything but you might have a fabric piece to go in the centre - an old embroidery perhaps? You can also bring old clothing to make this a memory cushion.
No need to be an expert, but if you can use a sewing machine for a straight stitch it would be helpful. (We'll get you up to speed quickly if not!)
