Rosie Sleightholme

I'm a choir leader, composer and singer based in Bristol, UK. Having performed as a singer-songwriter for over 20 years, I understand the power of music to connect people and evoke emotion. I pour the same passion into my work as a choir leader and, more recently, as a composer for choirs. 

I run workshops in Bristol and all over the UK.

I'm very excited to be running a brand new series of 2024 workshops which I've named 'Saturday Sings'. In each of these workshops, I will share the teaching with a fantastic guest composer, and we will take it in turns to sing our own SATB choir songs. The composers joining me are, in date order, Helen Chadwick, Katy Rose Bennett, Anna Tabbush, Emily Roblyn, Ben See and Helen Yeomans. 

I love hearing my music come to life through the voices of others. As a member of the Natural Voice Network, I welcome every voice to my choirs and workshops. I teach by ear, and there is no need for prior experience or to read music. As a composer I love to create accessible, harmonically satisfying and inspiring songs that bring people together and lift their spirits.
