Teaching concepts such as impulse control, management of arousal, focus, optimism, calmness, and boundaries, as opposed to behaviours such as sit and down, teaches the dog to think, to make good choices and encourage them to want to work with you. The relationship improves and the results just flow. Playing games with a dog teaches concepts and actually shapes a dog’s brain to continue to make great choices!
