Billy and Gillian Plenderleith are local to the 3 Towns Area (Ardrossan, Saltcoats & Stevenston) in Ayrshire; Billy was born and raised in Stevenston and Gillian in Ardrossan. Billy and Gillian have always had a keen interest in animals; from growing up with the family dogs and other pets including hamsters, budgies, guinea pigs and rabbits, to other hobbies including keeping tropical fish for Billy and horse-riding for Gillian. In 1980, Billy gained a keen interest in working with dogs when he went along with Lance, his first yellow Labrador dog, to a nearby dog obedience training club. Billy was determined to be a responsible dog owner and wanted to have a pet that he could take anywhere even then. He and Lance learned together and Billy was hooked. Following the addition of Sam and Clairey, two Golden Retrievers, Billy did well in Competitive Obedience, dabbled in Fun Agility and tried his hand at Showing. Whilst he enjoyed all these activities, Billy was introduced to gun dog work; this is where his real enthusiasm lay. Billy moved on to win awards in Working Gun Dog Tests and Field Trials with a variety of his dogs. Billy was also invited to be part of the representative team for The Golden Retriever Club of Scotland with both Sam and Clairey; a great honour.

We have a large selection of affordable pottery suitable for all the family to create your own masterpiece. As some of you know, Pot-Sian was originally located at the 'Green shed' also known as Derw Stores in Caerwedros, which you may recognise from the photos. Unfortunately, we had to close in 2020 due to the pandemic. pottery workshop ceredigionWe are in the process of building a new studio but for the time being, we are offering take-home kits for you to paint in the comfort of your own home. Also, after a successful summer last year, we will again have a comfortable painting studio within a good sized gazebo in our garden! *This will be available during the summer months (unfortunately, it is not available over Easter). The gazebo caters for family-sized groups of up to 8 people. Booking ahead is required. We will have two 3-hour sessions a day to choose from. 10am - 1pm or 2pm - 5pm. These time slots allow us to clean and sanitize the area and equipment between groups. Lisa currently has 6 dogs; Springer Spaniel, German Shorthaired Pointer, two Flatcoated Retrievers and two Working Cocker Spaniels. During the winter, she works her dogs on 3 local shoots, providing a stock of food for the freezer for the following months. During the summer, she competes with one Flatcoated Retriever and Working Cocker Spaniel in gundog working tests, and has also achieved Gundog Grades and Working Gundog Certificates with both. I have always been absolutely mad about dogs and I cannot imagine that there will ever be a time that I won't be. This enthusiasm and love for dogs is clearly visible in my work. Gun dogs were my initial interest as my family had Weimaraners and Spaniels when I was growing up. Now, general obedience training and behaviour modification in pet dogs is the main focus of my career. I am based on a family farm in Tolleshunt D'Arcy with my pride and joy "Gus" - a Rhodesian Ridgeback (born September 2019). Many of my clients will meet him during our sessions and he may even be brought out as stunt dog. I adore taking on new clients and watching them progress exponentially with their dogs.

The QIDTI Association was founded by John Rogerson and his International Associates to recognise Instructors around the world who have demonstrated the requisite level of professional instructing and or advising skill, personal expertise and understanding of canine training and behaviour The QIDTI Association works on a voluntary basis, encouraging all Instructors to gain the international standard set by the QIDTI Award. All those that meet that standard are invited to join our membership listing as a 'Qualified International Dog Training Instructor' for free to promote it, and those that wish to promote our aims and or work towards meeting that standard may join as a Supporting / Student member. The QIDTI Association supports 'national registration', and considers formal 'Affiliation' with the 'Registration Council for Dog Training & Behaviour Practitioners' (RCDTBP) is the way forward, to protect the public from what is currently an unregulated industry. The RCDTBP was officially founded to hold and manage the registers of Signatories to the nationally agreed 'CAWC Dog Behaviour & Training Code of Practice (2010). The CAWC Code was developed through a series of meetings organised by the Companion Animal Welfare Council (CAWC), following the publication of a national report on dog training & behaviour services in the UK (2008). The Code was agreed by the many industry dog training, behaviour and welfare groups concerned, as a workable document to regulate and improve canine services nationally, with the aim of uniting all individuals and industry organisations under it.

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME Bethany Nicholls is a dog and horse trainer covering central Scotland and beyond. She started horse training prior to her first degree on a yard where she was first introduced to Equitation Science, through Jody Hartstone. After completing her BSc (hons) at Lincoln University she went into veterinary diagnostics and research, continuing to expand her training interests and techniques with her own dogs. In 2016 she moved to West Lothian and became a trainer with a local training club, and in 2018 started her MSc in clinical animal behaviour at Edinburgh University, specialising in Canine and Equine. She has already achieved her PG Cert and is on track to gain PG Dip by 2020 and complete her MSc by 2021. She regularly attends conferences and CPD outside of studying to continually improve her practical training knowledge and repertoire.
