Really enjoyed this workshop with Josh writing my own campfire song. Josh guided us through his song making template making the process less daunting. Boiling Wells is such a lovely place, tea in the round house, writting lyrics amongst the apple trees, and singing round a camp fire. My own song "let the ladies sleep together they will come to no harm "was based on a comment my grandma made years ago and it was very cathartic to write it at Boiling Wells where I got married to my wife.

I highly recommend this course! I didn’t think it would be possible for me to write a song in a day, having never written a song before let alone sung in front of people before - but, both happened! It was glorious. It was joyous to sing together, learn from Josh's extensive knowledge of folk song-writing and hear others’ song ideas and get to workshop them together. Folk stories, singing, community + campfires and copious cuppas. A truly gorgeous day 🧡

I had a great time at the one-day songwriting event. I had an idea for a song or two swirling around in my head, and I needed this day to turn the concept into a singable reality. Spending the day with others helped us all, and Josh's calm, expert advice and coaching got us all over the finish line. Meeting the other participants was a pleasure; we helped and inspired each other. It was a day very well spent.

I had the pleasure of taking part in a campfire song writing day with Josh. What an utterly delicious time was had. The parameters were achievable and safe and his delivery suitably gently paced, settling the nerves of us all despite it being a group of fairly experienced songwriters. We all completed such unique and personal finished compositions. For some of us, this came especially pleasingly after a long dry spell of creative non-juiciness.

I booked Josh to run a session on folk songwriting as part of a broader project exploring identity in our local area. Josh met the brief perfectly and led an approachable and gentle day of songwriting. All of our participants, no matter their experience, were able to create something unique under Josh's careful and encouraging supervision. I can't recommend booking Josh for a course enough!
