YOUTH FOCUS SOUTH WEST is a ‘Not for Profit’, Community Interest Company (CIC) established in 2018 by Juliette Morgan with the aim of continuing to develop opportunities for young people at a time when funding for Youth Work has been dramatically reduced. YOUTH FOCUS SOUTH WEST has always had links to the Network of Regional Youth Work Units: England , and since 2019 has delivered regional training and capacity-building projects as part of the Network. Gill Millar, formerly Regional Youth Work Adviser at Learning South West, is leading our regional activities to support the youth sector in responding to challenges faced by young people and the organisations that work with them. As a Community Interest Company, YOUTH FOCUS SOUTH WEST is governed by its Directors, who are all passionate about young people and youth work. All our current Non-Executive Directors are youth workers and know the value that youth work brings for young people We also have an Advisory Group of youth work professionals from across the region to guide our South West regional developments.

North Yorkshire Youth is a charity that dates back to 1941. Lady Crathorne, who was a prominent youth worker in the years leading up to World War 2 founded the North Riding Association of Youth Clubs and used the grounds at the family home, Crathorne Hall to put on activities, mainly for young girls. Lady Crathonre remained closely connected to the charity for many years and was President up until her death in 1965. We have had numerous presidents since but we are immensely proud to have her son, Lord Crathorne as our current president, and long may the family connections remain. Since 1941 we have been called The North Roding Association of Youth Clubs, North Yorkshire Youth Association (Circa 1974), Youth Clubs North Yorkshire (Circa 1987) and are now known as North Yorkshire Youth (Circa 2006) Through our history we have helped 1,000’s of young people realise their potential. Be that through youth clubs, bespoke programmes, volunteering and experiencing the outdoors at Carlton Lodge. It was 1970 when we were given Carlton Lodge to provide space and a place for young people. The then Director worked with young people to develop the site . We had the honour of being officially opened on 6th July 1971 by HRH Princess Margaret and the site has been continually improved since then. The Bunkhouse arrived in 1983, the Stables were converted in 1992 and the Sports building was completed in 1998. We have added Outside facilities in 2006 along with our amazing High Ropes Course and the last major capital investment was our Boat House in 2013. Youth Work Ireland is a Federation of 20 Member Youth Services and a National Office who work together to support, empower, inspire and educate young people through the delivery of best practice youth work services. Our Vision is an Ireland of equality, access and participation for all young people. We are an inclusive and member-centred organisation. Our work is in service to our membership as they in turn work to develop the potential of young people and strengthen communities in Ireland.

Cumbria Youth Alliance have teamed up with Embrace Resilience to offer a full range of online modules to young people aged 14 -24, volunteers and staff members within Cumbria working with children, young people and families. twyford district youth & community centre

We provide a safe place for young people in the district to come for recreational activities, computer access, fitness, education, counselling and advice from trained professionals. We also provide an affordable venue for local groups and residents from the district to hire for fitness and social activities. In June 2013, Wokingham Borough Council announced that all but two of their youth centres and clubs would have to close due to budget cuts. On July 2nd 2013 concerned residents and users of the centre came together to form the Twyford Youth Centre Steering Group which nominated seven trustees who, with the support of Wokingham Borough Council, established a new charitable incorporated organisation (CIO) called Twyford District Youth and Community Centre. This was formed in January 2014. Registered charity number: 1155243. The charity has an 'association model' constitution which means that anyone interesting in furthering the charity's purposes can apply to become a member, giving them voting rights at general meetings and at the AGM - to be held annually in November.

I’m Sarahlynn Hodder, the founder of Bettering Youth I'm so pleased that you’re here to find out more about our passion to support children on their academic and emotional learning journeys, whether that be at home or in schools. Bettering Youth is an Ascot-based tuition company, and we’re on a mission to help children excel both in the classroom and beyond! I created Bettering Youth back in 2017. Over the years we have established ourselves as the only tutoring service that focuses on emotional and mental wellbeing of children. Our unique approach sets us apart and establishes us as leading tutoring providers and mental wellbeing coaches. We work with families in the following capacities: preparing for 11+ exams, studying for common entrance exams study skills and tutoring for GCSE exams building confidence in Maths, supporting reluctant readers, inspiring hesitant creative writers creating full academic learning journeys for home educating families coaching children one-to-one on emotional issues (anger, anxiety, OCD, body image) Both myself and the team of highly experienced tutors are profoundly passionate about teaching children: not only academically but emotionally as well. We’re all experienced teachers who are dedicated to supporting our students’ welfare above and beyond the academic requirements. As educators, our role is never simply to teach the curriculum; our goal is always to support the development of our amazing young people who all have emotions and worries, the same as you and me. Our membership comprises full & part-time voluntary and community youth sector organisations providing services to children and young people funded through the Education Authority.

WELCOME We are the Youth Support Team. We speak up for young people in Gloucestershire, advise, and support them. Our passionate and committed staff members are on the side of young people and their families. We work with all kinds of young people, no matter what their background. We aim to offer quick, responsive and effective intervention to vulnerable young people. We work with them and their families to identify the best support for them within their own communities. We’re realistic. We give young people an idea of what’s possible, but we challenge them too: we don’t have all the answers. south west youth ministries

As we work and pray towards this vision, our main strategy is to place trainee children and youth workers with churches, local ministries and schoolswork projects throughout the region. We also resource local churches with training events, residentials and leadership development opportunities for young people. SWYM work with local partners to put positive Christian role models wherever children and young people are. We want to reach out to those who don’t know Jesus and share the love of God with them. We also want to see young people become Christians and then encourage them to be a shining light where they are. We now also offer opportunities to engage in missional leadership in settings around the South West for those with a heart for community transformation. We are excited about seeing how we might resource local churches to reach out to their community in new ways. We have a great team based across the region, but we need many more people to join us in our mission to the people of the South West.
