Welcome to our fantastic school. It is a great privilege to be headmaster of such a vibrant and engaging community. As with the rest of the country, and world, we have undergone some necessary changes to adapt to the new environment we now all live in. It is typical of Leweston, however, that the pupils and staff have done so with not only great success but also with a degree of sense and fortitude that marks out both the character of the individual and that of the school. At Leweston we offer an environment where children feel comfortable to grow, but are nonetheless challenged to act and think independently. We encourage them to try everything on offer so we can nurture their talents to achieve great things. We celebrate success with them but also teach them that it is part of life to make mistakes; without new experiences they will not discover who they are and what they can achieve. We will allow them to experience failure, but we will never let them fail and, like you, we will never fail them. It is this process of discovery that allows us to bring out the very best in every pupil and help them to achieve more than they thought possible.

NWLCT is a team of practitioners who have a passion for the difference counselling and listening can make in people’s lives. We have been involved in the CPCAB counselling progression since 2001 and have seen the profound difference these courses make, to the conversations we have with others and the listening spaces we can provide. We provide courses from CPCAB because they are the only awarding body in the UK that focuses purely on counselling courses, they are experts in the field of professional training and their progression gives candidates the practical skills and knowledge required to enter the workplace feeling confident and prepared. Our Director and Lead Tutor, Tracey Burke-Taylor has been practising as a counsellor since 2003, and has been accredited to BACP since 2009. She has delivered these courses within Adult Education, the Voluntary sector and in-house for businesses and the private sector. She has worked as a CEO and Clinical Lead in therapeutic organisations and has strong knowledge and experience of the operational realities of providing counselling and of the requirements for counsellors in training. She qualified via the vocational route with CPCAB. Tracey is passionate about the value of professional frameworks and we run a post-qualification programme to enable and encourage qualified practitioners to formally accredit.

My name is Jen Barnes and I have been teaching Swimming since 2014. I love teaching children to swim and I leave every lesson with a smile because it really does bring me joy. Before having my own family, I worked in the Early Years sector which has given me a broader understanding of Child Development which I have applied to all the classes I teach. I believe that being in the water is one of the best ways to help your child grow in confidence. It is a sensory experience that helps develop co-ordination, brain connections, balance and is one of life's most necessary safety skills. Some experiences I have had in my life that were only possible because I can swim are: I have played Water Polo for Western Australia I am confident in my body because it is strong - and you have no other choice when you work in a swimming costume! I have been White Water Rafting in Indonesia I have surfed in Hawaii I have been swimming with Whalesharks on the Ningaloo Reef - one of the best experiences of my life! I truly love being in the water and I hope to share that passion with you in the pool!

I’ve been a coach since 2013 on the back of a career that has been varied, bringing with it a range of life skills and experience that are invaluable to coaching. I’ve worked for the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (as it was back in the day), the Countryside Alliance and I’ve served with the Territorial Army. I’ve been told that last bit was good training for raising 3 boys! There have been other adventures too. Catering (I love cooking but not professionally and am in awe of those who do), fundraising for schools and various political campaigns. For a while I thought the political life was where I wanted to go but decided it didn’t work for me alongside raising a family. Again, in awe of those who do. Working for a charity called Key4Life was a particularly fascinating and inspiring project. The common thread running through everything I have done is people. All sorts of different people from different starting points, different parts of the world, different mindsets. Building a rapport with people honestly but quickly comes very naturally to me. It is finding out your story and working closely with you to lighten the load or improve the quality of your life that is at the core of my coaching.

Always present your card at reception You must register your attendance at reception just before your class or use the fast track kiosks, where available. If you fail to follow this procedure your member status will show as non-attended to the booking and a £1 charge will be added to your account. How do I cancel a booking? You can cancel a booking by logging in to your Lifestyles online account. If you know you can't attend a session, please make sure you cancel online so that somebody else can take the place. Non-members who have paid at the time of booking will get a refund or credit note added to your account, as long as you cancel online six hours before the scheduled activity. Having technical issues? Classrooms and Library NACS presents an enviably serene ambience for serious learning. Classrooms are well furnished and equipped with electronic gadgets, including LCD projectors and Wi-Fi connectivity, making it a veritable high- tech educational institution. Carole Smollan enjoys teaching, particularly beginners and children, “I encourage them to access their creative processes.” I find this fascinating and inspiring and with children I believe it sets them up for a lifelong advantage. Smollan began exhibiting her art work from the age of 17. As a lace and lingerie designer she became head of a public company, won a prize at the Cologne Fair and was elected “Young Business Woman of the Year. Subsequently she ran her ceramic studio for 20 years making large murals for public buildings – the proudest one being in the foyer of the Constitutional Court in Johannesburg. Creating ceramics for the blind in Gardens, Cape Town was an awe inspiring experience. For many years she did the critique for a distance learning Art Course. In 1996 she emigrated to England without her kilns and began to develop her textile work. Her love of cloth began in her grandfather’s tailoring room. Smollan specializes in Synagogue Art. She has been commissioned to produce artwork for synagogues all over the world, exhibited on many one-man shows and museums all over the world, recently with a show of 150 pieces at the Yeshiva University Museum in New York.
