This course is available to those who have already completed a dry needling foundation course and wish to add acupuncture for pain relief to their toolbox. Only acupuncture points and clinical reasoning will be taught mostly within a western framework, but traditional Chinese medicine will be explained as well. This could also be beneficial to someone who wishes to return to using acupuncture, but has not practiced for some time. To successfully complete this course there will be a short practical test and a 2000 word case study to ensure that a sufficient level of competancy and understanding has been achieved to safely practice acupuncture. The qualification is aimed at learners already working or preparing to work in industry that is identified within the company's risk assessment of First Aid. The qualification has a recommended course duration of 3 days; however the course duration may be increased to meet additional learning needs if required but not reduced.
