Hannah Titley BA (Hons), MA, MA (Oxon), PGCE COURAGE Courage is having the strength to tackle challenges – in academia and in life. It’s having the confidence to face a subject that feels daunting and ask questions when you don’t understand. Academic courage empowers students to choose difficult problems and risk making mistakes. We work with students on their Maths courage, their Science courage, their Shakespeare courage, their public speaking courage. By cultivating courage in a supportive learning environment, our students feel safe to ask questions and rise to academic challenges. CRITICAL THINKING Critical thinking is a way to analyse complex issues and articulate ideas. It is a lens through which to understand the world, by appreciating different perspectives and value frameworks. Through discussion and debate, we teach students to think critically and confidently articulate their ideas. Our teaching approach seeks to liberate students from unthinking conformity. Our teachers have strong academic backgrounds, UK teaching qualifications, and a minimum of two years of experience teaching in the classroom. Many are also GCSE and A Level examiners. FOUNDER & MANAGING DIRECTOR HANNAH TITLEY Hannah founded The Golden Circle in 2017 after qualifying as a teacher through the Teach First programme. Teaching in the classroom showed that school doesn’t work for everyone. For children who are talented in sports, art, or music, or who require extra academic support or challenge, school doesn’t bring out their best. Born in Manchester, Hannah was educated at Altrincham Grammar School for Girls before reading Biological Sciences at New College, Oxford University. She holds a first class Master’s degree from King’s College London and PGCE teaching qualification which is rated ‘Outstanding’. In addition to teaching, Hannah has worked as a Researcher for Oxford University and Reform think tank. She is Director of the Home Schooling Association and continues to teach Science at Key Stage 4 and 5. She speaks regularly at education events and provides written commentary for national media including the BBC, The Times, Telegraph and The Guardian. HEAD OF OPERATIONS LYDIA TITLEY Lydia is originally from Manchester and completed her secondary education at Altrincham Grammar School for Girls. Following this, her interest in French language and culture led her to the University of Bath, where she completed a BSc in International Business Management and French. Lydia took the opportunity to spend a year in Paris where she attended the prestigious business school of ESCP Paris, studying a bilingual Master’s in Management, and worked as a European Account Manager at an international Marketing and Publishing firm. Lydia joined The Golden Circle team in 2018, where she holds the role of Head of Operations. In her spare time, Lydia enjoys yoga and is currently completing a Mindfulness Teacher Training course. She has a keen interest in the arts, theatre and travel. March Meditation

March Meditation is an introductory pre session to a new series: Inner Glow, Outer Flow beginning in April. This month, on Sunday 23rd March, we will be led in a guided meditation. Our brilliant guest therapist will help to bring awareness to each part of our body to start to release tension, quiet the mind, and restore balance; getting us present to our current mind/body/spirit posture. The cost of this session is £25 and for those in the Bitty ⭕️, this session is included in your membership. 🧡 The full 5 week course will be a powerful blend of introspective work, guided meditation, dance, yoga and movement, we will help unlock the radiant energy within and express it fully in the way we self talk, walk, move and show up in the world. This is an invitation to embody your most empowered, authentic self. It begins this Sunday. (The full course will begin in April). Gentle and slow paced yoga class - This class is ideal for those who are looking for a gentle mindful approach to yoga whether a beginner or more experienced. These classes will include gentle yoga postures, joint freeing movements, breathing and mindfulness practices as well as short guided meditations where you are encouraged to lie down (or sit in a chair if you wish) Whilst an ability to get up from and down to the floor is helpful, all the practices can also be done whilst sitting in a chair. Enjoy the art of life drawing and yoga during this artistic relaxation class in London for beginners. If like us, you find yourself having to choose between being healthy or creative, then this workshop is the perfect option for you. You'll enjoy a combination of relaxation, stretching, and the opportunity to artistically express yourself all at the same time. Not only that, but it's also something fun and different to enjoy with friends and like-minded people. Life drawing and yoga go hand in hand as they are both therapeutic and tranquil. As you focus on the movements and techniques, that both life drawing and yoga provide, you leave your troubles behind. In this combined workshop you will: - Relax and stretch in a calm creative environment, whilst fellow guests observe the interesting shapes yoga can provide. - Draw from observation of a live yoga model (your fellow guests) using yoga shapes to help you. It's all about shorter drawings and overcoming the 'fear of the blank page'! - Feel refreshed, creative, and be able to take home a series of beautiful drawings. No yoga or creative skills are needed, our friendly hosts will guide you step-by-step through the experience with demonstrations and examples and adapt to suit your personal needs.  We will supply everything you need including a matt. But if you want to bring your own you can. Please wear comfortable clothes. How will it work?  For half the class you will be a yogi and for the other half of the class you will be an artist Everyone in the class will be modelling and drawing each other. On arrival you can decide whether you want to be the yogi or the artist first but either way you are going to experience both.  Yoga: We've designed simple yoga poses most people can achieve and are perfect for drawing. Yogi Annie will take you through a series of stretching exercises for 35mins. She will demonstrate each pose, give you plenty of rest between movements and adapt the pose to suit your needs.  Life drawing: You’ll be taken on a journey of drawing exercises with artist Klara. Whilst drawing the yogi models, for 35mins we will explore different tools such as pencil or charcoal and drawing techniques such as continuous line and blind drawing. These contemporary drawing exercises are perfect for beginners and accomplished artists we are here to support you with examples and demonstrations but you'll have creative freedom so you can be as abstract or as detailed as you like. At the end of the class, we will do some constructive rest and exhibit our drawings and you’ll leave relaxed and stretched and feel creative & healthy and display your drawing at home.  Supporting you on your journey: Artist Klara revived her love of interpreting the human form 5 years ago, through the respected Dulwich Art Group. Over the last year she has taken on her first couple of commissions, and enjoys being part of the lively Instagram artist community as @the.pomegranate.art Yogi Annie has been practicing yoga for 10yrs. She gained her training for Vinyasa Flow in 2018 and has since furthered her teaching skills with Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra. Her own practice is with other teachers including Restorative & Iyengar which help with her teaching skills.

A personalized 1-1 session of Shamanic Yoga is a session of healing of the body according to the blockages and limitations that appear to your eyes, which give us the key to solve in a marvellous way what your soul needs. This yoga is suitable to everyone and it is very easy and creative.  SHAMANIC YOGA  is ancestral, ancient, pre-vedic. It has the element of ecstasy, of a non ordinary state of consciousness, where you work with nature, animals, yantras, mantras, mudras, rituals, initiations in the imaginal forest, in the natural code, non the social code. Merceliade says that this yoga is the oldest form of yoga and we find it in various traditions: Hindu tradition (Shaktism), Himalayan (Naropa, Milarepa etc), South America (Andean yoga), Siberia, Mongolia, Japan (Yamabushi), Taoism, Alchemy. Shamanic yoga is not an exercise of the body, but a mystical, esoteric and initiatory healing practice that is distinguished by two characteristics; the first is ecstasy, the ability to communicate with the invisible, regaining the state of non-duality that is the typical goal of the yogin’s path. Ecstasy is not achieved by hypnosis or drugs or external means, but by means of instruments such as the drum, the breath and is not the trance of the medium. The shaman does not speak through the voice of spirits but draws knowledge directly from them. The second characteristic is the ability to bring back through narration or storytelling what has been grasped in the invisible worlds, during the shamanic journey, and to convince the matter to transform into reality what is told. Yin Yoga is a Yoga style based on keeping positions (or "asanas") for an extended period of time, allowing us to reach and deepen the union between our body and our mind.
