The aim of the Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Wood Occupations (Construction) qualification is to recognise the knowledge, skills and competence of individuals who specialise in a wood based occupation in the construction industry eligible for the Gold CSCS Card. Upon completion of the qualification, you will be awarded the NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Wood Occupations. The qualification modules will be discussed and agreed upon with each individual candidate to ensure that the qualification will be suited to your job role. Each candidate will be allocated a designated and qualified assessor to provide support throughout the qualification and provide information, advice and guidance to candidates in order that they can achieve the qualification. CSCS Cards Candidates can undertake the CSCS test and obtain the red (Provisional) CSCS card on signing up for various qualifications. The red card can usually be obtained within 7 to 14 days and can be used to access the construction sites for a period of 12 months. On completion of the qualification, candidates can upgrade or renew their CSCS Card card to the full 5 year card.

My Hollow form making day for intermediate students will give you the basic knowledge to make beautiful vases and bowls. Usually made from solid branch or trunk wood I will teach you how to choose and prepare suitable timber and use the specialist tools to carry out hollowing. (one-to-one only or maximum of 2 students)

Lee Furniture offer a beginners course in cabinetmaking. The tuition is one on one. This course is for the beginner interested in making furniture. The course is hands on and will be based around using tools and machinery to plane wood, use of hand tools to include the correct use of: Marking out tools Planes Chisels Scrapers Power tools During the day we will talk about wood selection, Planing, joints etc.. You will also have a chance to use a Tablesaw, bandsaw, router table etc.. You will also have the chance to cut some dovetail joints by hand!! Throughout there is plenty of time for questions. PLEASE NOTE: You don't make a box on this course, if you wish to leave with a finished product at the end of the day, please book our box making course in or other courses available..
