Open course enabling either 1 day Emergency First Aid at Work qualification or 3 day First Aid at Work qualification. Full days session/s are required to ensure you complete and satisfy the trainer to pass the course. Certificate will be provided following full payment and attendance of course which you sign up for.  The 1-day Emergency first aid at work course is designed for first aiders working in small or low-risk environments. A 3-day First aid at work qualification is designed for larger or higher-risk environments and will include a wider range of illnesses and emergency situations.  Legal requirement advises that in workplaces of 5 or more people there should be a minimum of 1 fully trained First Aider on site at all times.

About this Training Course This 3 full-day course will provide insights into many aspects of operating the modern refinery as a business. This will include technical information on refining processes, crude oils and processing options, the place of the refinery in the value chain, refinery cost structure and management, optimization and profit margin, energy and oil loss reduction. This course will also address important management tools and techniques used for economic evaluations in refineries including future trends. This course will include presentations, simulations, a trading game, and exercises. This is an interactive session where participants can propose relevant topics upfront to discuss during class. He has a sound understanding of refinery processes and economics. After retiring from Shell in 2020, he is now a principal consultant for Crude Oil & Refinery Modelling. He enjoys dealing with challenging technical problems and opportunities to deliver value through practical solutions. He has a hands-on mentality, is flexible and builds strong relationship with clients. During his career, he coached many engineers and delivered countless inhouse and external courses on crude oil, hydrocracking and general refinery processes and economics at the Shell Open University and many other client locations. He authored and co-authored several publications and presentations at international conferences and has three patents to his name. He understands how to deliver outstanding services in sometimes difficult cultural and commercial situations, having worked for clients around the world. He works effectively in multi-disciplinary teams, has strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as excellent consulting, facilitation and interpersonal and multilingual skills. He has an MSc in Chemical & Agricultural Engineering (cum laude) and a BSc in Chemical & Agricultural Engineering from the University Ghent, Belgium. About this Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT) A large amount of geological data is acquired at a substantial cost when carrying out a drilling operation. Ensuring optimal quality of this information and effective reporting plays a key role during well design and drilling operations. In addition, there is much to benefit from the later usage of the data in field studies. A critical component that ensures favourable and positive results is the close co-operation between geological, drilling and well engineering departments. Comprising 5 half-day sessions, this Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT) course aims to provide the required knowledge in order for the collaboration to be most effective and successful. This VILT course will comprise lectures interspersed with practical and interactive exercises and quizzes to promote better understanding. Training Objectives At the end of this VILT course, participants will be able to: Understand the techniques used by wellsite geologists in formation evaluation via: Quick-look analysis to assess reservoir and hydrocarbons Mudlog data (lithology/cutting description, gas readings) Grasp the application of wellsite data in exploration and development Be able to read, assess and use drilling reports Acquire an understanding of drilling problems caused by subsurface conditions Understand the role and contributions of the geologist to the well maturation process Target Audience This VILT course is intended for geologists and other subsurface staff involved in drilling operations who would like to work and communicate more effectively with wellsite staff.  Please note that this VILT course is not a preparation course for a wellsite assignment. To be able to work independently on the wellsite, a more hands-on or on-site training would be required. Training Methods This VILT course will be delivered online in 5 half-day sessions comprising 4 hours per day, with 2 breaks of 10 minutes per day. Course Duration: 5 half-day sessions, 4 hours per session (20 hours in total). Trainer Your expert course leader has close to 20 years of experience as a geologist in the Oil & Gas industry. Her main interest and passion is in well planning and operations. She had previously worked as a production geologist and technical authority in NAM (Netherlands), and as a discipline advisor tasked to coach young staff in Bangalore. She has been active in internal training sessions on drilling hazards, mudwindow assessment and project management. She obtained an MSc in hard rock structural geology from the University in Utrecht, a PhD at Brown University (RI, USA) and a post-doctoral at the RWTH Aachen. BGP training course description A study of BGP for non engineers working in the Internet. The course starts with a review of the basics of routers and routing tables and then moves on to a simple overview of how BPG works with a focus on BGP metrics influencing the route traffic takes through the Internet.
