Megan Crook is a self-taught textile guru. She has been expanding her craft for over 15 years. During this time, Megan has developed a cult following for her unique and eye-catching designs. From hand to machine knits and pattern cutting to tailoring, Megan inherently combines a multitude of techniques and is forever seeking more knowledge and experience. In 2018 Megan Crook Textiles was born, this brand focuses on machine embroidery and embellishment to create unique and individual surface patterns using mixed materials and novelty knitting yarns. The outcome is an inspiring array of colour and texture showcased across a range of accessories, interiors and bespoke garments all created by hand in her new studio in the heart of Nottingham. A lot goes into making every item. From sourcing, pattern drafting, grading, sampling, cutting, manufacturing, finishing, and photography. All of this is done in our Nottingham studio. Sherwood Young Artists is a children's art school that runs weekly classes for 7 - 18 year olds, in Sherwood, Nottingham. The classes offer children the opportunity to develop skills in a full range of different artistic materials and techniques, to complete their Explore, Bronze, Silver and Gold Arts Awards. Through the sessions we also enable the children to discover and learn about a wide range of different Artists, designers and creative practitioners. We also help the children to develop confidence in becoming Arts leaders and offer them the opportunity to present their amazing artwork through our involvement with such events as 'Sherwood Art Week', 'Nottingham Light Night', 'The Hartley Creatives' and our own special exhibitions in our lovely art studio in Sherwood. Since the pandemic, Sherwood Young Artists also now offers online Art Courses via this website. Our highly successful DofE Award Art courses have supported nearly 200 children, from all across Britain (and beyond), in completing their Bronze, Silver and Gold DofE Awards, since we launched it a couple of years ago. We are also very proud of our successful Discover Arts Award online course. This course was set up with the support of the Arts Council and is a great starter course for 5-10 year olds.

Field Breaks started out in the Autumn of 2007 to provide a selection of professionally tutored illustration workshops in the Peak District. This followed the demise of similar workshops in the area and filled a much needed gap for people wanting short affordable art breaks in botanical illustration and landscape painting. Such was the demand for this provision that over the following years the programme has been extended to include a greater selection of courses and venues, along with a growing number of specialist professional tutors. 2020 and the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic saw great challenges to all small businesses, including Field Breaks, with courses rescheduled for safer times. This was an opportunity however for founder member Sue to think seriously about her achievements, goals and ambitions, and after some deliberation decided to pass the business on to fellow artist Hazel. Along with many happy memories of running Field Breaks, Sue is enjoying the opportunity to start new projects. With the handover, Hazel decided to revitalise the old website - "I'm re-dressing the shop window while it's quiet!" Following suggestions from her peers, this also gave her the opportunity to re-think and amend the name from "Field Breaks" to "Field Breaks Art", which lends more focus under the artwork umbrella. We hope you like it! After the extended lockdown, Hazel added a new range of on-line mini workshops in the Spring of 2021, which were a lovely way to keep connected with other artists and share ideas. From July 2021 we were once again able to offer in-person workshops so the focus was to deliver quality tutor-led courses while maintaining a level of safety, including reduced class numbers to enable social distancing. In 2022 we are pleased to be able to offer another full programme of workshops in drawing, painting, botanical illustration, natural history, landscape, abstract, and mixed media including textiles and craft workshops in batik, jewellery making, lacemaking and felting. Hi I'm Hannah and have been quilting for nearly 10 years. I learnt to sew after my 3rd child was born whilst we lived overseas and I was looking for a creative outlet. I discovered Patchwork and Quilting and soon fell in love with the process, enjoying everything about making a quilt from start to finish. I now share that love with others in the hope they too may discover a new passion.  The Stitch and Run home Studio is located in Totley, Sheffield on the edge of the beautiful Peak District. The community enterprise was set up to support enterprises and assist individuals and organisations to grow. Whilst we started with a focus on supporting local businesses and community organisations we have evolved to encompass the delivery of projects that support our core aims - to help people help themselves. We work in conjunction with partners to offer the widest range of options to the community to enhance their own skills and opportunities. Whether that be to build work skills to move down the career path, showcase talents and/or business, offer empowerment opportunities in the community to build confidence, communication, and contacts to avoid social isolation or to do our bit for the planet through our recycling project.
