Deeply nurturing and restorative, recalibrating the nervous system. Complete time for you. We will move through restorative and Yin asanas, and take our time to release old deep tensions in the body. To let go of what no longer serves us and feel restored, ready for the Spring energy ahead. Please bring your yoga mat, warm clothing, a blanket, a pillow or two and if you have one, a bolster. About your tutor: Gemma Williams, your Yoga tutor, has been teaching yoga since 2009. She has travelled worldwide to learn from different yoga backgrounds. THE NVQ HAS NO SET DATES. ONCE REGISTERED YOU WILL BE ENROLLED ON THE SYSTEM WITH COMPLETION TIMES BELOW What is an NVQ? An NVQ is a competence-based qualification. The qualification is an International recognised work-based qualification. Once qualified, it will demonstrate to employers that you are skilled and able to perform well in your role at work. This is where you will be able to demonstrate your ability at work and complete a list of job knowledge questions regarding the units in your qualification. It is the candidate’s responsibility to engage with the Assessor and gather the evidence that will match the assessment criteria in your NVQ.   How can the candidate gather the onsite/work evidence and job knowledge questions? Risk Assessment Method Statement Drawings Materials Measuring, Cutting, Positioning, and securing in place what you are installing.   Methods of ways of gathering evidence - Videos – this will be the candidate setting up their video and then demonstrating their skills and ability on site and then upload to the candidate’s portfolio. On site assessment - where your assessor will come out to you and observe you demonstrating your skills. This will depend on the site location and assessors’ location. If the site location is too far for the assessment to take place, it will be solely video evidence. Your Assessor will instruct you on how to complete your videos. Witness testimony - your Assessor will hold a recorded discussion with your manager/supervisor to confirm where, when and how you have completed the work to the specifications. Photos – They can be used as part of an assessment. They will not be accepted if the candidate isn’t in the photo. Photos cannot be used to build up a portfolio but can be used as part of the videos showing the full completed job and also in the Assessors on site assessment observation report.   Job Knowledge Questions account for 65% of the NVQ qualification. These can be saved to your computer and typed as this will be the quickest and easiest route or you can print them out and hand write them. They are very important, and they are written to see if you have the knowledge behind what you are doing on site or at work. The questions are all relevant to the work that you do.   What is the process? You will receive an email from the online platform with your username (your email address) and password. Arrange with your Assessor to complete your Induction. Complete your knowledge questions. Arrange with your Assessor your site assessment. Assessor will contact your Manager/Supervisor for a testimony. Recorded Professional Discussion with you to confirm your ability and authenticate your portfolio. Cost – Level 2 - £750 + Vat. If you would like to add an additional pathway, they would be £300 each added pathway. Level 3 - £950 + Vat. If you would like to add an additional pathway, they would be £300 each added pathway. Time Scale of the NVQ? The NVQ is candidate led. This will depend on how committed the candidate is and how much work the candidate has lined up. Your Assessor cannot complete you without the evidence. For a level 2, we aim to have the candidate completed in 4 – 8 weeks, Level 3 from 4 – 12/16 weeks

Disability awareness workshops for pupils

A whole day of workshops for groups of pupils throughout your school, delivered by a dedicated ally of disabled people. Engaging and thought-provoking, these workshops are a must for schools that want to challenge prejudice and promote disability equality. Workshops will help pupils to: learn more about disability and human rights hear disabled people’s perspectives identify common stereotypes and some of the prejudices disabled people face consider what disability is and how it arises understand the difference between impairment and disability review terminology and its effect on disabled people’s identities learn about disabled people who have made a difference ask sensitive questions anonymously become advocates for disability equality 95-100% of participants say that they found our workshop helpful Some of the reasons pupils have given for finding the workshop helpful are: “Until today I had always been scared of disabled people but today I have learnt that disabled people have a heart and emotions too.” “I now understand more about disabilities. My sister and brother has disabilities.” “It shows that although disabled people have limits they can do many things.” “Because presenter told in very simply way about complicated things and used interesting examples.” “Now I know that disabled people do things differently.” FAQs: How long is each workshop? 40-45 minutes; this can be adjusted to fit in with your school day. How many workshops will you deliver? We can deliver up to six workshops in a day. How many pupils should there be in each group? The workshops are interactive, so they are more effective with groups of around 20 pupils. We are often asked to work with larger groups and this still generates excellent feedback from pupils and staff. What year groups are these workshops for? The workshops are suitable for all year groups in primary and secondary schools; we adapt the content and presentation according to the age of pupils. Does a member of staff need to stay with the group? Yes, we ask that a member of staff is present at each workshop. Will you need any equipment? We ask for a computer, projector and access to the internet. Pupils will need a pen to write with. How are the workshops evaluated? At the end of each workshop we ask all (except the youngest) pupils to write down if they have found it helpful or not and why; we may also offer them an opportunity to ask a question anonymously.If schools have opted for this (please see optional extras below) we will send the school written responses to questions and a transcript of pupils’ feedback as evidence of impact.
