The method &ndash; Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA) &ndash; will assist organisations with the analysis and assessment of identified process plant hazards.</p><p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">This method can answer key questions like &lsquo;Do we have enough controls?&rsquo; or &lsquo;Are they sufficiently effective?&rsquo; It is often used as a follow-up to a HAZOP study to confirm the qualitative judgement and decisions made by the team. It is considered to be a semi-quantitative technique since it uses &lsquo;order of magnitude&rsquo; estimates of risk reduction of each protection layer and is therefore less time-consuming than using Fully Quantified Risk Analysis (QRA).</p><p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">This 2 full-day course will equip participants with an understanding of how a hazard scenario is defined and its severity is categorized to set a tolerable frequency. The participants will learn to determine how many Independent Protection Layers (IPL) are required to achieve the tolerable frequency, and how to specify an IPL.</p><p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">All of these activities are covered by a tutored exercise and group work. In recent years, he has been called upon to conduct various offshore and onshore incident investigations. His career has given him experience in project engineering, project management, process design and operations, safety engineering and risk management. He is a Fellow of the UK Institution of Chemical Engineers. He served on the Scottish Branch committee, and was elected chairman for a two-year term in 1991. He has also been chairman of the Safety and Reliability Society &ndash; North of Scotland Branch. This is a two-day course where participants facilitate a coaching session on day two. All attendees will have the opportunity to coach a fellow participant and receive an HD recording of their session.
When you consider the content we deliver, we are sure you will understand why we always prefer to deliver our workshops, courses and programmes face-to-face.
Face-to-face workshops and courses can be held at a location of your choice or, if you wish, a central UK location, such as the Macdonald Burlington Hotel in Birmingham, located directly across from the Birmingham New Street train station.
We can deliver our workshops, courses and programmes online, although this will mean splitting elements into manageable learning events to suit the online environment.

This course is for qualified and experienced assessors looking to take the next step in their careers by becoming a qualified Internal Quality Assurer. This qualification allows you to gain the knowledge required and is suitable for you if you don’t have access to assessors, haven’t started the role of an IQA or your Awarding Organisation do not require you to have the full award.
You will attend 4 workshops (delivered via Zoom) and will submit 2 assignments.
This course will enable you know:
The context and principles of IQA and how you can uphold them in your centre
How to plan IQA activity
The different techniques you can use to monitor quality
How to maintain and improve standards of delivery and assessment in your centre
The legal and regulatory requirement relating to internal quality assurance



Further Information
After completing this course, you can progress to completing the additional unit Internally Assure the Quality of Assessment. You will need two assessors, each with a minimum of two learners to be able to plan, carry out IQA using a range of techniques, provide feedback, and hold a standardisation meeting, You will be supported and observed by a Learning Advisor to help mentor you through to achievement . Please see Level 4 Award in Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice.
Once you are fully qualified, you can the progress to the Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice. This requires you to have responsibility for a team of assessors / IQAs.

LOOKING FOR: CHILDREN'S: PICTURE BOOK TEXTS, NON-FICTION, POETRY

Lucy Brownridge is Editorial Director at Wide Eyed Editions and Frances Lincoln Children’s Books, and formerly Thames & Hudson where she helped to establish the Children’s list. She specialises in highly illustrated picture books and non-fiction (including poetry) for children. She has commissioned and edited books which have gone on to win the Carnegie Awards, The British Book Awards, the Klaus Flugge Prize, the Blue Peter Prize and have been translated into over 30 languages. She has been editor to Alan Ahlberg, Quentin Blake, Mariajo Ilustrajo, Yuval Zommer and Children’s Laureate Joseph Coelho among many others. She is the author of The Fantastical Safari and The Cat Family series, and many other books for children.

She is interested in the history of illustrated children’s books and is always looking for innovative ways to use the book format.

ABOUT YOU

She is keen to read stories she hasn't seen before or see artwork with a distinctive style rather than something that fits with trends. Each week on Zoom, you will meet with others who are dating and share the same desire to date in a healthy, informed way. Rachel will give a short talk, lead you in some reflective activities to improve your dating life, and answer your burning questions about dating. As you get to know each other, you'll learn from and support each other too. The course aims to enable you to enjoy healthier, intentional and more empowered dating experiences.
The six week dating programme involves various activities, exercises and assessments, should be fun as well as challenging, and is supported by Rachel’s Dating Workbook (which you will need to buy) and various handouts.

Session 1: Celebrating yourself 
Aims:
To think about why you are dating and what you want from it
To feel good about yourself and give off the right vibe
To identify your strengths, values, goals
To understand your relationship with yourself
