MHFA England Mental Health First Aid

In January 2024 alone, reports were published about the SRA taking enforcement action against 3 firms and 4 individuals for failure to comply with the Money Laundering Regulations 2017. The fines issued for these non-compliances total over &pound;570,000 plus costs. The absence of staff training, or requirement to complete additional training, was noted in a number of these cases.Many of the breaches resulting in enforcement action involved failures by the fee earners to conduct appropriate due diligence, adequately check the source of funds and/or wealth or recognise and report red flags. In January 2024 alone, reports were published about the SRA taking enforcement action against 3 firms and 4 individuals for failure to comply with the Money Laundering Regulations 2017. The fines issued for these non-compliances total over £570,000 plus costs. The absence of staff training, or requirement to complete additional training, was noted in a number of these cases.
Many of the breaches resulting in enforcement action involved failures by the fee earners to conduct appropriate due diligence, adequately check the source of funds and/or wealth or recognise and report red flags. SRA Accounts Rules: A Practical Guide

Real Estate Development cash flows require greater skill and flexibility from Analysts, and an ability to work with simultaneously with project partners. Value add and opportunistic property investments are complex both in their initial scope and their cash flow projections.This course will show delegates how to appraise projects in Excel, incorporate and communicate updates as they happen and ultimately understand how to convert an opportunistic property investment into a core asset that can be sold on.Residual models (profit &amp; site) are demonstrated first to illustrate the main components of any scheme and the traditional methods of evaluation such as profit on cost ratio, rental yield and interest cover. Development cash flows are then constructed in detail looking in particular at phased income as well as fixed, variable and incidental construction costs and their impact on the net cash flow. Additional performance metrics are calculated including geared IRR and return on equity.Development financing can be trickier than straightforward senior debt investment financing. This is because finance is often required in stages. The brought forward carried forward method demonstrated on the course, is the easiest way to deal with programmed debt drawdown functions and rolled-up interest.The assessment of project specific risk is arguably much more important in development schemes. Sensitivity analysis and scenario analysis are covered in the final section of the course. Real Estate Development cash flows require greater skill and flexibility from Analysts, and an ability to work with simultaneously with project partners. Value add and opportunistic property investments are complex both in their initial scope and their cash flow projections.
This course will show delegates how to appraise projects in Excel, incorporate and communicate updates as they happen and ultimately understand how to convert an opportunistic property investment into a core asset that can be sold on.
Residual models (profit & site) are demonstrated first to illustrate the main components of any scheme and the traditional methods of evaluation such as profit on cost ratio, rental yield and interest cover. Development cash flows are then constructed in detail looking in particular at phased income as well as fixed, variable and incidental construction costs and their impact on the net cash flow. Additional performance metrics are calculated including geared IRR and return on equity.
Development financing can be trickier than straightforward senior debt investment financing. This is because finance is often required in stages. The brought forward carried forward method demonstrated on the course, is the easiest way to deal with programmed debt drawdown functions and rolled-up interest.
The assessment of project specific risk is arguably much more important in development schemes. Sensitivity analysis and scenario analysis are covered in the final section of the course.

This Level 1 Certification Program is the first step in our Instructor Training Certification Pathway, equipping you to confidently use the Healthcare Hero simulation in your teaching environment.

In this program, you will experience the simulation as a student, navigating its complexities and dynamics. Upon successfully completing Level 1, you’ll be ready to advance to Level 2 Training, where you will deepen your expertise in simulation facilitation and administration.

The program is cohort-based, and the timetable is coordinated in advance through discussions with the HFX team to ensure maximum participation. For more information on the program structure, instructional materials, and certification requirements, please read on.

What to Expect:
The Healthcare Hero simulation places you in charge of a fictional hospital. Over eight simulation rounds - each representing one quarter of business operations - you will make strategic decisions to optimize patient care while managing staffing, capacity, quality, and finances.
Throughout the simulation, you’ll navigate challenges like healthcare and economic crises, all while balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders. Your ultimate goal is to outperform competing hospitals managed by other participants in the program.

Program and Certification Requirements

This program equips you to confidently lead the simulation by requiring more than attendance or participation. To earn certification, you must:

Thoroughly Prepare: Review all instructional materials and the scenario manual before the course begins.
Fully Participate: Attend all Zoom sessions and complete each simulation round with focus and effort.
Demonstrate Mastery: Show a comprehensive understanding of the simulation’s dynamics, decision-making processes, and strategies during practice and live rounds.
Engage in Reflection: Actively participate in debrief sessions, assess your performance, and identify strategies for improvement.

This certification ensures you are equipped to facilitate this complex simulation with confidence. Auditing the course is an option, but participants who choose to audit will not receive certification.


Program Format

The program is delivered intensively over one or more Zoom sessions, totaling six hours. This compressed format demands your full attention and focus to successfully navigate the simulation’s complexities.

The program unfolds in four key phases:


Phase 1: Pre Zoom Call / Study / Set Up

Register using the button at the bottom of this page.
Review the instructional materials thoroughly.
Once the cohort is finalized, you will be sent your login credentials for the simulation itself.
Try to submit decisions for the first practice round using the simulation portal at www.simulationportal.com.


Phase 2: Play

We run two practice rounds over the first 2 hours of the zoom call. This allows you to familiarize yourself with the platform and decision-making process, and think through what your strategy might be in the live game.
The simulation resets ("zeroed") after the practice rounds.
A brief session will clarify lessons learned and expectations for the live rounds.
Over eight rounds, you’ll compete against other participants while refining your strategic decisions.


Phase 3: Feedback

Reflect on your performance during a structured debrief, including:
Strengths and areas for improvement.
Insights into competitors’ strategies.
Strategic lessons learned, and applicability to local healthcare organizations.


Phase 4: Implementation Planning

Work with the HFX team to plan your first application of the simulation in a teaching environment.

How do I attend?

EITHER -
CLASSROOM OPTION - Attend one of our scheduled classroom locations, completing your Introduction to Phlebotomy Course over 2 days. You will also complete your Advanced Training at the end of the first day and your Competency Training at the end of the second day.

Our Introduction to Phlebotomy and Advanced Phlebotomy Training Kits are supplied at no charge when booking our virtual classroom training option.
If you would like to add one or both of these kits to your classroom training option then these are available to add at time of booking. Our comprehensive training kits each mirror the same equipment and supplies used in the classroom and both include detailed video tutorials, allowing you to continue to practice and "hone" your skills after you have completed your practical training.

VIRTUAL CLASSROOM OPTION- Complete your theory training online at home or work, then join us for a one day Zoom session to complete your Introduction to Phlebotomy virtual classroom training, followed by your Advanced Training in the evening of the same day. Please note - Competency Training
Our Route to Competency Masterclass - Live Blood Sessions can only be completed in a classroom environment. This is included when you book a classroom option. When booking the virtual classroom option you can choose to add this at time of booking. You will receive a voucher code to enable you to book onto any upcoming dates or locations. For most of our two day course we run our competency training at the end of the second day and therefore you should be able to complete your full training programme with us over two days.

✨️ Vocal Wellness Series for Women starting this April ✨️


A Spring online offering to support any woman who is on the journey to discover her authentic voice.


Come and join us in this nourishing online container as we delve into the power of the feminine voice together! 🌿


Sessions will begin on April 12th and run over 8 weeks 


Classes will run for 1.5-2 hours on Saturday mornings. The timings will be 10am-12pm (GMT) / 2.30-4pm (IST). 


The intention is to support and develop your vocal expression journey, within a feminine container, and explore various vocal wellness practises over 8 weeks to nurture creativity, confidence and clarity in your voice.


Together we will explore, breath, movement and play to get you vocalising in your space, having fun and feeling comfortable sounding your authentic voice at home!


These will be the class topics:


🌿Week 1: Vocal play, inner child exploration for confidence and creativity (April 12th)
🌿Week 2: Emotion release and letting go with sound (April 19th)
🌿Week 3: Intuitive toning and sounding (April 26th)
🌿Week 4: Chakra toning & Mantra chanting (May 3rd)
🌿Week 5: Exploring emotion through vocal play (May 10th)
🌿Week 6: Voice and Pleasure, self soothing sound & touch (May 31st)
🌿Week 7: Medicine Songs & Mantras (June 14th)
🌿Week 8: Sound & Word play: Voice Jams & Creative lyrics - Finding your Soul Song (June 21st)
