What you'll do Design and build your own one-off clock from recycled and scrap materials, with the help of upcycling experts, Black Paw. In this experience you can choose to make anything from a wall or table clock to a Grandfather or Grandmother clock. You’ll each be given a quartz battery powered clock unit and from there you can get creative with your design and the materials you use. Your hosts, Scott and Sue, will guide you through everything you need to know, from the tools you’ll use to how to prep recycled material. For your clock design you’ll have free reign to be creative with your ideas. The style you choose can be inspired by anything and can be finished in colour or natural wood. This is a perfect chance to create a unique piece for your home or make a personal, one-off gift. Everyone is welcome and you’ll not only go away with your finished clock, but the practical skills to continue upcycling. Please bring a face mask as you’ll need to wear one at certain points during your experience. Face shields will be optional to wear for the rest of your time in the workshop and these will be provided. All workspaces will be fully sanitised and there will regular hand washing throughout. On the day You don't need any previous woodwork experience, just some enthusiasm! Please wear old clothes (or something that you don’t mind getting damaged or torn) and sensible, closed toe footwear. Work boots are recommended. Tea and coffee will be available throughout the day, but please bring along your own packed lunch.

Our Cosmeti-Craft Workshops are a great way of learning a new skill and having some fun making your own cosmetics. Children from age 5 upwards can have fun learning about colours and smells while older children experience a more detailed tutorial on the uses and effects of cosmetic ingredients.

This course is ideal for all, from beginners to confident makers. You will learn the basics of leather craft for accessories and be introduced to techniques including machine stitching on leather, hand finishing and hand cutting. You will also be working with the full spectrum of leather types from soft leathers and suedes to a hard sturdy veg tanned leather. This is a perfect introductory course to start your journey into leatherwork and bag making as you will experience the wide variety of tasks involved in the work. In order to complete your bag in a day we will use part pre-prepared components and the bag will be made from a ‘Hands of Tym’ pattern but do not fear there is still plenty of work for you to do. During the day you will be directed by your tutor Leathersmith and London College of Fashion Lecturer Georgie Tym to make: A fully lined 'Turned seam' 'W Base' Medium Leather Tote bag with raw edge straps. There will be one small pocket inside attached to the lining The dimensions of the Tote Bag are 300mm x 320mm x 160mm. Following a varied career in Accessories design and development across many roles and international brands I set up Hands of Tym in 2016.
