At Black & Gold Audio we offer beginner, intermediate, advanced and expert sessions for anyone aged 14 and over. The sessions are carried out either within our studios in Truro, Cornwall or remotely using ZOOM. They are designed around you the learner and your own specific wants and needs. Our tutor is an expert in the fields of acoustics, recording, traditional and electronic music composition, music production, sequencing, sound design, mixing and mastering, film, TV and game audio. Who is this course for? Candidates who are interested in a more one to one based learning program remotely or within a professional industry standard environment, tuition is flexible regarding days, hours and regularity. Most importantly the tutor can design a program that it suited to you and your requirements, a meeting with the tutor can be arranged beforehand to discuss a learning plan for you. Flexible 1 to 1 tutoring is a great way to learn at your own pace with no pressures and with the support of an industry expert. This is a very open ended question for these types of sessions, its about what you want to learn and our tutor will talk with you to figure out the a suitable program for your needs. We cater for beginners, intermediates, advanced and expert students. How will I learn? The aim of these courses is to build a basic to advanced knowledge and understanding in various specialist areas of the industry, each tailor made course will support your learning through progress tracking and access to some amazing learning resources provided by our tutor. Each session will focus and build upon the last so that you are eventually able to meet your desired end goal. What equipment do I use on the course? The Black & Gold Studio is equipped with a huge range of both industry standard recording equipment, hardware synthesizers, drum machines, fx processing and control surfaces, and that’s before we even get inside the computer!! You can be taught to use DAW’s such as Logic Pro X, Cubase, Pro Tools & Ableton Live as well as explore other 3rd party softwares such as NI Komplete, Izotope, Fabfilter, Waves and so many more.

Join us on our free two-week Making Change course. This course has been designed to prepare you to start university, alongside building a portfolio and gaining support for your application. You will get an art school experience, and during the course you will get the chance to meet the lecturers for the subjects you are interested in studying. You will learn how to work with different painting and printing techniques, test your skills as a fine artist, and get hands-on with materials, all while building a portfolio. This course has been designed to support you commencing your Undergraduate or Postgraduate studies with Arts University Plymouth in September 2025 or 2026. “Honestly, I can't believe the course was only three weeks long. During the course you will make, discuss and experiment with materials and ideas, whilst preparing for entry onto one of our Undergraduate or Postgraduate courses. You will be supported in making an application, and you will improve your knowledge of the higher education sector. Are you a mature student? As well as support in completing your application, you'll be given advice and tips on how to prepare your portfolio, as well as comprehensive student finance advice. Previous graduates of our Making Change courses have gone on to study at degree level on subjects including Fashion, Textiles, Fine Art, Craft and Material Practices and Painting, Drawing & Printmaking, and across our range of postgraduate courses. What are the entry requirements for this course? You don’t need to have a portfolio prepared - you just have to bring your enthusiasm and meet the following criteria: At the start of the course I am between the ages of 18 - 70, I'm eligible to work in the UK (i.e. I have a National Insurance number), I am interested in studying at Arts University Plymouth in September 2025 or 2026. I want to explore higher education opportunities at an undergraduate or postgraduate level, I am eligible for at least two years of student funding or I am looking at self-funding a Higher Education course,* I am able to attend all six sessions (see dates below). *More information on whether you are eligible for financial support can be found at www.gov.uk/student-finance/who-qualifies. If you are unsure if you are eligible, we can discuss this with you once you have applied. When does this course run? This course takes place on campus at Arts University Plymouth with sessions from 10am to 3:30pm, every Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday from 4th - 13th June 2025.
We supply Fire Marshal, Warden, Awareness training at your location and tailor it to your work sector, as such your staff will have no travelling or subsistence expenses minimising disruption for your organisation. Our trainer will bring all materials so you only need to provide a room with a plug socket. There is a practical element with extinguishers outside using our propane burners, which are fully insured and environmentally friendly. We require approximately 4 car parking spaces for this, if you do not have enough space we provide extinguisher discharge only. The training is accredited by the Institute of Fire Safety Managers, all attendees will receive individual Electronic Certificates and our Fire Warden Quick Guide, in addition a Group Certificate will be sent with all names on for audit purposes and your central records.

LG's Therma V air-to-water heat pump product training course now available from Unitherm. On completion of the one day Therma V training course, you will gain access to LG's extended product warranty (7 years subject to the warranty terms and conditions) which is a parts and labour contribution warranty. What's covered: • The full LG Therma V range; medium temperature split and monobloc systems and the high temperature split system. • Product range and design, installation, commissioning and basic troubleshooting. • Suitable for Heating/Installation and Service Engineers only. • Refreshments and lunch will be supplied free of charge on the day. On completion of the course, you will gain access to LG's extended product warranty. (Subject to LG's warranty terms and conditions). For the extended warranty you will need to attend the training, install to LG's requirements & supply LG with the following; • LG Commissioning Form. • Hydraulic and Wiring Schematic. • Photographs of the installation. • MCS Submittal documentation (if applicable). • LATS Therma V report (if applicable). All documents need to be with LG within 30 days of the system commissioning date.
