Identifying syncopal episodes attributable to cardiovascular disease as opposed to arrhythmias. Recognise ECG markers for tachycardias, bradycardias, pre-excitation syndromes, bi-fascicular block, and first-degree block with bundle branch block. Differentiate between supraventricular and ventricular extrasystoles and be able to diagnose broad complex tachycardias, ventricular flutter and fibrillation, sick sinus syndrome, and Stokes-Adams attacks. Recognise and identify symptoms associated with the causes of acute or chronic chest pain in patients who present with myocardial infarction (heart attack), pulmonary embolism, significant central pulmonary embolism, pericarditis, aortic dissection, oesophageal rupture, spinal disorders, vertebral collapse, posterior infarction, and angina. Recognise symptoms indicative of conditions such as pulmonary oedema, chest diseases, and pulmonary congestion. After the course GPT009: Safely and competently set up an ECG machine Introduce patients to the ECG test, adhering to compliancy requirements before and after testing Perform an ECG test to national guidelines Understand basic traces and their correlation to cardiac issues Recognise normal and erroneous recordings Recognise recordings that require urgent medical follow-up Complete the recording and label (or record digital copies) as per guidelines GPT010: Appreciate normal and abnormal ECG variations in the context of varying pathologies. Be able to determine whether an arrhythmia has an underlying cause that requires medical intervention. Interpret ECGs as a function of the patient's ongoing cardiac management. Understand and apply the Burce Protocol exercise test in relevant clinical situations. Know how to clinically respond to a patient with chest pain including further investigations required, pain relief, history and examination and echocardiogram. Understand and apply the fundamental principles of arrhythmia management. Understand the primary causes of heart disease and the diagnostic process. Appreciate the importance of the ECG as a diagnostic tool alongside the patient’s history and clinical presentation and recognising its limitations. This 2 day course provides expert guidance on EV charging equipment installation, an important emerging area which is not covered in detail by the current edition of the Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) or the IET’s Guidance Notes. Aimed at experienced electricians interested in understanding a wide range of equipment and systems available, this course applies to the specialised installation requirements of electric vehicle charging equipment in domestic dwellings, on-street locations, commercial and industrial premises. The course provides detailed guidance and recommendations on all aspects of the installation of Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment from the origin of the electrical supply, through distribution and final circuits, installation of the charging equipment itself to the cable between the charging equipment and vehicle’s electrical inlet. Also included are related issues of site layout and planning and subsequent inspection, testing, certification and maintenance of installations. Why take this course? Currently there is an increasing demand for new electric vehicle charging points but too few installers to roll them out. This is already a booming market which is due to get much bigger in the near future. The number of public charging connectors and locations has increased by 38% in the past 12 months and is expected to continue at that rate for years to come. Entry Requirements There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification, however we do expect you to meet the following requirements: Minimum age 18 years old (mandatory) Must be able to demonstrate the following competencies Be able to correctly install and terminate: pvc/pvc cable (twin and earth) Steel Wire armoured cable (swa) Be able to carry out an initial verification (inspection & testing) on an electrical installation and complete the necessary paperwork. Our CITB Online - Site Supervisors’ Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) Refresher course is designed to give attendees a broad reminder of their responsibilities for health and safety on construction sites. Approved and endorsed by the United Kingdom Contractors Group, the SSSTS refresher course is a must for anyone who occupies a supervisory role on UKCG sites and wants to brush up on their knowledge of their legal responsibilities and the latest construction industry regulations. The SSSTS Refresher course has been created to provide existing supervisors, or those who are just entering into a supervisory role, with in-depth knowledge of health and safety legislation and procedures. If a candidate completed a full SSSTS training course up to 5 years ago, they will be required to attend a refresher programme. Prerequisites SSSTS certificates are of course valid for up to 5 years, but due to the ever-changing nature of the industry, it is recommended that staff stay up to date by enrolling on a refresher course long before the qualification expires.
