We welcome Anne Kelly to Stitching Kitchen to run her Folk Tales mixed media, embroidery workshop.

Learn to crochet from how to hold the hook, to how to use patterns and charts in just 6 x 2 hour sessions

We are very pleased to be welcoming back this wonderful introduction to working with leather - and to think you will make two fantastic items in a day!

Learn how to measure, cut and stitch accurate patchwork quilt blocks in this one day workshop. Part of a 4 day quilt course, but suitable as a stand alone class too. This class is a great class to take after the beginners class as the sewing will be mostly straight lines and it will allow you to practice more seams and other skills learned in the beginners class. You will need to know how to handle a sewing machine for this class but it's very much still a class that's achievable for beginners. You will cover design, measuring, cutting, the use of various tools, and stitching.

Learn how to cut and stitch a variety of fun improv quilt blocks in this one day workshop. There will be a further patchwork class on 18th November, a free motion stitching and appliqué class on 25th November and a final workshop on 9th December to learn to put the quilt sandwich together, and bind it.

Would you love to learn how to make beautiful quilts and home decor but weren't sure where to start? Can you sew a straight stitch on a sewing machine? If the answer is 'yes' to any of the above, then this beginner workshop is for you! In this beginner-friendly sewing workshop, you'll learn from a how to use the sewing machine to create your own Patchwork Quilted Cushion You will sew 5-inch squares together to form a pieced cushion front in a layout of your choosing. You will learn how to piece (baste) the 3 layers together, patchwork top, wadding layer and backing, then quilt all three layers together to make your cushion front. You will finish by making an envelope-style back to complete your cushion Don't worry if you've never tried quilting or patchwork before, as you'll have all the help and support you need , along with plenty of tea, coffee and cake to keep you going. You'll leave the class with your gorgeous cushion cover, along with all the skills you've learned during this fun and friendly sewing workshop. All materials and equipment will be provided and you will go home with a finished 42x42cm patchwork and quilted cushion. A 42x42cm cushion insert will be needed for your finished cover. You can bring this with you to the class if you wish.  Plenty of tea and coffee will be served throughout the workshop along with freshly baked cake. We won't have a formal lunch break but please feel free to bring a packed lunch which you can keep in our fridge

This one day course was developed in conjunction with industry experts specifically for the needs of fashion and textile designers. It focuses on the drawing and repeating pattern capabilities of illustrator. It would also be useful for tile designers or for anyone interested in learning how to create incredible drawings and repeating patterns with Illustrator.

Have you always fancied learning to crochet but never found the time or struggled with online tutorials? Our classes are friendly, relaxed and the perfect place to learn.
