About this VILT Tripod can be used in any area of business where the organisation has a management system in place to prevent unwanted events e.g., health, safety, environment, quality, security, productivity, project management, and many more Tripod Beta is one of several tools based on Tripod's fundamental principles. Tripod Beta is based on proven theories, man years of academic research, and testing in the workplace. The Swiss Cheese Model originated from this work. Features of the methodology are: 1) the Tripod Beta diagram; it provides an easy-to-read summary of the entire investigation on a single page, 2) it accommodates deficiencies in leadership and worker participation, 3) it accommodates deficiencies in human behaviour, and 4) it highlights missing controls (not just controls that failed). Quality throughout all aspects of Tripod is assured by the Stichting Tripod Foundation (STF) and the Energy Institute. The participants will gain a theoretical understanding of the Tripod Beta methodology and terminology. They will be able to read Tripod diagrams and reports, and be able to assist incident investigation/analysis as a team member. This is the first step to becoming an accredited silver or gold practitioner. Tripod Beta Practitioner Accreditation is meant to build these skills, through a blend of support, coaching and assessments. Feedback is provided on Tripod incident investigation reports, giving the Practitioner the opportunity to hone their skills and become confident in their ability to use Tripod effectively. Learn directly from Leathersmith and London College of Fashion Lecturer, Georgie Tym, as she guides you through this experience day, making a sturdy hand stitched vegetable tanned leather satchel with a raw edge adjustable cross body strap. The bag is left unlined. Who is this course for? This bag in a day course is ideal for all experience levels, from beginners to confident makers. A perfect introduction into leather work and bag making, you will experience the wide variety of tasks involved in the work. What to expect Have fun learning the basics of leather craft (for accessories), with introduction to techniques including: hand stitching on leather, hand finishing and hand cutting. You will be working with a sturdy vegetable tanned leather. In order to complete your bag in a day we will use some pre-prepared components and the bag will be made from a 'Hands of Tym' pattern. Don’t worry though, there is still plenty of hands-on work for you to enjoy. The Bag The Leather Cross Body Satchel Bag has a sturdy boxy design giving a classic look, this follows the same design as our popular DIY satchel bag. The strap is adjustable and made to your desired length. The bag can be made out of your choice of leather from a wide variety of colours available in the workshop. The bag is unlined. The size is perfect for carrying your everyday essentials. Make it your own with personalised hand stamping. The dimensions of the finished bag are H:190mm x W:245mm x D:90mm and it will be the same construction as the bag in the product photos. What's included in the price? There are NO ADDITIONAL costs. Set your machine free to draw with it, combined with applique you can make stunning art! This is a very practical and hands on class which will see you appliqueing & free motion stitching in no time, the techniques are easily mastered so you can spend your time creating. Part of a 4 day quilting course, but suitable as a stand alone course too.

Masterful use of shape can take your work to new heights, add vitality and energy to your work with improvised free cut shapes is the goal of this workshop. Exercises will focus on sharpening your awareness of the role shape can play in your work. Ideas will be developed by using fused fabric studies. Fabric compositions will be developed using piecing and raw edge fused collage. Learn to use shape and colour confidently by fusing, appliqueing, piecing or stitching them to add movement and direction to your work. Working with a variety of shapes you will learn how to add a new graphic quality by stitching or overlapping colour to make an individual free-form composition.  You may choose to work by hand or machine or both.
