By popular demand, we are merging our two innovative conferences into a single Pyramid FUNctional Conference, Beyond the Basics for 2023! Gain all the latest information on BOTH communication and behaviour-related content. This year’s two-day conference, led by the co-developers of PECS® (Picture Exchange Communication System®) Andy Bondy, PhD and Lori Frost, MS, CCC-SLP will be held virtually on October 16th and 17th, 2023. Day one will focus on the Pyramid Approach to expanding and refining communication skills. Lori Frost will kick off the conference with a presentation on ethical collaboration. Next, an entire talk is dedicated to teaching commenting skills. Critics sometimes falsely claim that Pyramid focuses only on requesting skills – so, here’s your chance to learn about how to expand communication skills to incorporate creative and meaningful commenting opportunities. The first day of the conference will conclude with the debut of a new talk that focuses on implementing strategies to expand communication skills for learners who have some speech. Day two of the conference will focus on a variety of topics related to the conditions under which behavior occurs. The conference will begin with a look at implementation of the Pyramid Approach to Education® around the globe. Participants will leave with fresh ideas to incorporate small programmatic changes that make big differences in creating effective educational environments. Next, our team will explore how prompts are used in everyday life with all new information related to assessment of prompt types for specific learners within carefully designed lessons. The conference will conclude with a full presentation on error correction with Dr. Andy Bondy providing new insights on the topic. During this single three-hour session, we will be meeting in the charming streets of Edinburgh, where we'll embark on a leisurely walk (weather permitting) and indulge in some wonderful Spanish tapas. As we stroll and enjoy some food, we'll refresh your Spanish skills, covering all the essential vocabulary and structures you're likely to use during your upcoming holiday. One non-alcoholic drink of your choice is included in the price of the course, however food isn't (but the tapas are worth every penny!). We offer flexible location options – just let us know your preference. This offering is for an initial session exploring your enneagram map report , which is included. The test I use is from Aephoria, and it will give you your tritype (your strategies for thinking, feeling and doing) as well as your instinctual variant, which is helpful information about where you tend to focus your attention. Once you have your map, we will unpack the information together, and if you wish, go on to explore it over a series of sessions, using creative tools and practices to find its meaning and wisdom for you in your life.

P405 Managing Asbestos in Buildings is the industry standard qualification for those whose work involves asbestos management, such as duty holders and building managers. In addition to holding the qualification, they are required to undertake and provide evidence of annual refresher training. RP405 Refresher is a new course, specifically designed to meet this requirement. RP405 Refresher enables candidates to revise and update their knowledge on good asbestos management practices, and to receive a certificate of course completion by passing a written examination, which covers both the theory and practice of managing asbestos in buildings.

P404 Air Sampling of Asbestos and MMMF and Requirements for a Certificate of Reoccupation Following Clearance of Asbestos is the industry standard qualification for those whose work involves air sampling and clearance testing, such as asbestos analysts. In addition to holding the qualification, they are required to undertake and provide evidence of annual refresher training. RP404 Refresher is a new course, specifically designed to meet this requirement. RP404 Refresher enables candidates to revise and update their knowledge on air sampling and clearance testing techniques, and to receive a certificate of course completion by passing a written examination, which covers both the theory and practice of air sampling and clearance testing.

P400 - Asbestos Surveying and Analysis is a one day foundation level course, which provides candidates with the fundamental knowledge to start a career in the asbestos surveying and analysis professions, and as a progression route to the asbestos Proficiency qualifications. It gives candidates an introductory level of knowledge on the health risks of asbestos fibres, and how to manage asbestos-containing materials in their work. Candidates for this course are not expected to have prior knowledge and experience but having an awareness of the contents of both HSG248 Asbestos: The analysts' guide (July 2021) and HSG264 Asbestos: the survey guide January 2010), would be advantageous.
