About Alt Valley Community Trust Originally established as Croxteth Community Trust in 1988, Alt Valley Community Trust was founded following the successful occupation of a local comprehensive school to save it from government closure. The charity became Alt Valley Community Trust in 2005, and has since developed from an educational charity into an anchor organisation that makes a significant contribution to the local area, transforming sports centres, libraries, colleges, and community hubs.

The Walton Centre is a leader in the treatment and care of neurology and neurosurgery, placing the patient and their family at the heart of everything we do. As the only specialist hospital trust in the UK dedicated to providing comprehensive neurology, neurosurgery, spinal and pain management services we are proud to be rated as an ‘Outstanding’ Trust by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), and champion change throughout the field of neuroscience. Originally formed in 1992, the Trust received Foundation Trust status in 2009. We have leading specialists and incredibly dedicated staff delivering excellent clinical outcomes for brain, spinal and neurological care both national and internationally. Teams across our site in Fazakerley, Liverpool, offer a world-class service in diagnosing and treating injuries and illnesses affecting the brain, spine and peripheral nerves and muscles, and in supporting people suffering from a wide range of long-term neurological conditions. We serve a catchment area of 3.5 million people across Merseyside, Cheshire, Lancashire, Greater Manchester, the Isle of Man, north Wales and beyond with service partnerships with 18 NHS hospitals. Our ‘Walton Clinics’ model on 44 sites providing care for neurology means that many people are able to access outpatient consultations and many tests closer to home, and takes specialist services as close to service users as possible. We know that the effects of short and long-term unemployment will be significant for younger generations, so protecting the future of young people across Greater Manchester is absolutely critical, ensuring they have hope and optimism for the future. We have developed a range of courses and tailored support to provide vulnerable young people with the practical and financial support needed to stabilise their lives, develop self-esteem and confidence, and gain valuable skills for work. We’re working closely with GMCA, employers and other key partners in the region to pilot new and innovative ways of supporting young people to achieve their goals and fulfil their potential. Future Workforce Fund plays a significant role in our ability to support the emerging needs of young people, and provide a flexible, adaptive offer that will directly support the Greater Manchester Young Person’s Guarantee. We are proud to be working in partnership with GMCA to do things differently and help young people in the region take their next steps towards building sustainable futures.

Our bespoke training courses are designed for estate planners with the knowledge to promote a Family Asset Protection Trust (also known as a "Lifetime Asset Trust"). Our Consultant Course will provide you with a hands-on approach to the needs of the client and a depth of knowledge regarding our products. The training covers different Trust products we offer, including the FAPT and the FAPT+ Trusts. (FAPT works within the NRB while the FAPT+ allows estates above the NRB, whilst still allowing the use of the RNRB if required).

Winner of experience of the year 2019, The Anderton Boat Lift has earned its nickname of Cathedral of the Canals for a very good reason. Not only does it still do the job it was designed to do of lifting boats and barges the 50 feet from the River Weaver Navigation to the Trent & Mersey Canal, but it does it with the most ingenious and endearing character of any structure on the canal system. The mighty Anderton Boat Lift is one of the 'Seven Wonders of the Waterways' and together with its visitor centre, coffee shop, play area and nearby Northwich Woodlands, it makes for a great day out.
