7 RSE courses in Cardiff delivered Live Online

A one-day training course for all staff in special schools and colleges, to increase confidence and skills providing RSE and pastoral support to learners.

This one day course will support teachers and RSE leads in special colleges and special schools with post 16 learners to deliver a meaningful curriculum through the Preparing for Adulthood outcomes. The course will explore key issues for older learners, including how to teach about practical aspects of relationships such as attraction and fancying people, starting relationships, negotiation and consent discussions, and how to keep yourself safe. Participants will leave with increased confidence to develop and deliver a skills-based, rights focused curriculum that will empower learners to be able to navigate their personal lives and relationships with autonomy.   Aim: To develop confidence to create and deliver an age-appropriate, rights based RSE curriculum for young adults with learning disabilities.   Outcomes: Participants will develop understanding of requirements for RSE for older learners, including the statutory guidance and preparation for adulthood outcomes, and how RSE can support independent living consider specific challenges young people with SEND may face in developing relationships and explore practical and creative ways to support relationship skill development explore strategies to address sexualised behaviour, and what to do if a learner begins or wants to masturbate in college   Who is this course for? This one day course is ideal for teachers and RSE leads working in special schools and tutors in colleges with older learners, up to age 25, and beyond.

The Jiwsi RSE Network is holding an online webinar to share sex and relationships work practice in North Wales. This seminar will focus on sharing our practice and offering peer support. We will host guest speakers and members will have the opportunity to share practice and network. Our confirmed guest speakers are Helen Bichard from BCUHB Clinical Psychology sharing information on Non Fatal Strangulation on the Brain, and Alex Thomas from Viva LGBTQ+ sharing information on their services. Free relationships and sex education training for professionals working in North Wales. Cwmni Addysg Rhyw - Sex Education Company has been commissioned to deliver relationships and sex education (RSE) training to BCUHB staff and partner organisations in North Wales. The aim of this training is to increase confidence and skills to work more effectively with issues concerning sexual health and vulnerable young people. 'The best training I have ever attended!' Speakeasy is a free course for parents and other caregivers of autistic children and young people, aged up to 18 years old, living within Conwy and Denbighshire. A programme of six sessions. Mondays 6pm to 8pm. We will be delivering the course online. Discussing growing up, relationships, and sex with your autistic child can be a challenging yet essential aspect of parenting. Our Speakeasy course is designed to guide you through these conversations; join us for a course designed to address the specific needs of parents with autistic children and young people, supporting you to talk with your child about growing up, relationships and sex. Come and join Supported Loving's Community of Practice for anyone working with people with learning disabilities and/or autistic people delivering relationships and sex education, this can be formally groups or informally within your job role. Working in this area can be challenging but as a community we can grow and learn - there is always something new to learn! Each month we will take a topic to discuss and reflect upon what are the challenges and what has worked/ positive approaches.
