Onze studenten, alumni en docenten zijn ijzersterk in het bedenken van artistieke en creatieve concepten. Maar om van concept te gaan naar realisatie zijn er acht andere bouwstenen die even noodzakelijk zijn. Die bouwstenen vormen samen een business plan. Gelukkig is er met het Canvas Model van Alex Osterwalder een model dat je toelaat om die bouwstenen snel en accuraat te benoemen zodat je creatief concept geen volledig boekdeel nodig heeft om tot stand te komen. Deze webinar is bijzonder handig voor studenten en docenten die overwegen om een LUCAbreakoutsteun aan te vragen. Dit model wordt gebruikt in de beoordeling van de voorstellen.

In deze webinar gaan we in op het gebruik van Mailchimp als platform om e-mails vorm te geven en e-adressen van je contacten mee te verzamelen en te beheren. Bovendien zorgt het systeem ook dat je voldoet aan de eisen van de GDPR en privacywetgeving  In deze webinar gaan we in op Mailchimp, niet alleen omdat we hier als school zelf mee werken, maar ook omdat het platform gratis is zolang je minder dan 2000 adressen in het systeem zitten hebt. Voor beginnende kunstenaars en ontwerpers is dat dus een betaalbaar systeem.  In deze workshop belichten we verschillende aspecten van een mailing, adresformulieren en sjablonen. We zoomen ook in op de account van LUCA en wat dit betekent voor studenten en docenten van LUCA. De webinar staat open voor studenten, alumni en docenten van LUCA School of Arts.

Kunst is een vorm van communicatie. Het is niet altijd een neerschrijfbare boodschap, maar wel iets dat werd gecreëerd om iemand te raken. Kunst kan daarom moeilijk bestaan zonder een publiek. Hoe kan je dat publiek bereiken, wat kan je gebruiken om dat publiek te overtuigen om naar jouw werk te komen kijken en vooral welke hulpmiddelen biedt de hogeschool om je daarbij te ondersteunen. Dat zijn de aspecten die aan bod komen in deze workshop. Deze workshop staat open voor studenten, alumni en docenten van LUCA School of Arts.

Sinds kort vindt men crowdfunding steeds vaker terug als vorm van “alternatieve financieringen”. Crowdfunding is een vorm van collaboratieve of participatieve financiering van een project via een groot aantal kleine investeerders. Vandaar het woord “crowd” (menigte). In deze workshop gaan we in op de verschillende fases van een geslaagde fondsenwerving, geven we tips & tricks voor, maar ook voorbeelden van crowdfunding.  We zoomen ook in op het platform dat door LUCA School of Arts werd ontwikkeld in samenwerking met KOALECT. Are you curious about studying art at University level but need a bit more experience, a confidence boost or want to immerse yourself in a few new creative techniques before you start your degree? Join us on our free two-week Making Change course. This course has been designed to prepare you to start university, alongside building a portfolio and gaining support for your application. You will get an art school experience, and during the course you will get the chance to meet the lecturers for the subjects you are interested in studying. You will learn how to work with different painting and printing techniques, test your skills as a fine artist, and get hands-on with materials, all while building a portfolio. This course has been designed to support you commencing your Undergraduate or Postgraduate studies with Arts University Plymouth in September 2025 or 2026. “Honestly, I can't believe the course was only three weeks long. During the course you will make, discuss and experiment with materials and ideas, whilst preparing for entry onto one of our Undergraduate or Postgraduate courses. Previous graduates of our Making Change courses have gone on to study at degree level on subjects including Fashion, Textiles, Fine Art, Craft and Material Practices and Painting, Drawing & Printmaking, and across our range of postgraduate courses. What are the entry requirements for this course? You don’t need to have a portfolio prepared - you just have to bring your enthusiasm and meet the following criteria: At the start of the course I am between the ages of 18 - 70, I'm eligible to work in the UK (i.e. I have a National Insurance number), I am interested in studying at Arts University Plymouth in September 2025 or 2026. I want to explore higher education opportunities at an undergraduate or postgraduate level, I am eligible for at least two years of student funding or I am looking at self-funding a Higher Education course,* I am able to attend all six sessions (see dates below). *More information on whether you are eligible for financial support can be found at www.gov.uk/student-finance/who-qualifies. This course takes place on campus at Arts University Plymouth with sessions from 10am to 3:30pm, every Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday from 4th - 13th June 2025.

This is a step by step digital workshop that will be sent directly to your inbox for you to keep forever. All my workshops are suitable for beginners and the more experienced artist. I have 25 years experience delivering workshops to all ages and abilities. I use raku sculpture clay and finish with oxides but any clay can be used including air dry clay for people who do not have a kiln.
