Expanded Talks: Design in VR w/ animation studio Lavamachine

Op 13/11 heeft The Painting with Light Project in de bibliotheek van Genk plaats. Dit is een immersieve audiovisuele performance van het Extended Animation-collectief.

Dit collectief werd opgericht in het kader van Gert Wastyn zijn doctoraatsonderzoek waarbij de artistieke en productionele mogelijkheden van Virtual Reality (VR) worden onderzocht.

Tijdens de performance wordt er in VR een ‘Live Painting’ gecreëerd die wordt weergegeven als video mapping-projectie met het imposante interieur van de bibliotheek van Genk als canvas.

Om ontwerptechnieken met VR te promoten, wordt er op 13/10 om 19u een livestream gehouden waar Eric Giessmann en Piers Goffart van VR-animatiestudio Lavamachine (DE) een demo zal houden als een introductie in VR-illustratie met o.a. Multibrush. Dit is de gratis software die tijdens de performance zal worden gebruikt.

On 13/11 The Painting with Light Project will take place in the library of Genk. This is an immersive audiovisual performance by the Extended Animation collective.

This collective was founded in the context of Gert Wastyn's doctoral research in which the artistic and production possibilities of Virtual Reality (VR) are explored.

During the performance, a 'Live Painting' is created in VR that is displayed as a video mapping projection with the imposing interior of the library of Genk as its canvas.

To promote design techniques with VR, a livestream will be held on 13/10 at 19h where Eric Giessmann and Piers Goffart from VR animation studio Lavamachine (DE) will give a demo as an introduction to VR illustration with Multibrush. This is the free software that will be used during the performance.
