Ruth has over twenty years of Wood Carving and Pyrography experience and will guide you step by step to create a 2d Relief Carving on a solid piece of Local Wood using traditional gouged and mallets or a design drawn and burnt into the wood. The workshop will take place in an outdoor studio space set on the grounds of the 48 acres Birtley Estate.

Our workshop packages are perfect for groups looking for an alternative activity to take part in as part of a corporate event, team building exercise, stag or hen do, birthday party, Christmas party or any other occasion you’d like to embellish with a unique creative spin.  Below is a list of ‘off the shelf’ workshops and packages we currently offer however each of these can be customised to suit your needs. So if you like the look of tie due but also want to give t-shirt printing a go drop us an email and we’ll do our best to make it happen. Similarly if you’d like any of these experiences to come to you please get in touch as a selection of our equipment is portable. Booking a workshop as a group would give you a discount price as well. If you are more than 5 people, you can get it from 50£ per person (regular price 75£) for our usual 6h workshop. Your children will spend the morning creating a reusable Christmas wreath before breaking for lunch and games (please provide a packed lunch). They will then decorate their own festive stocking in the afternoon. Both sessions include squash and a snack as well as a mini Christmas themed craft. There is a 10% discount (automatically applied) for children who are staying all day for both sessions from 10:00am-3:00pm. Instructions We shouldn't get too messy during the workshop and aprons will be provided when using paints, but please don't send your children in their best clothes!

With this 2 hour workshop, you will learn to make your own lampshade. You can choose from our wide range of over 1400+ fabrics to make a lampshade. You can match this to your home decor if you so wish.

I often buy clothes and accessories spontaneously. This results in a wardrobe full of pieces that don’t pair with anything. “I have nothing to wear….” I hear you say. A handful of treasures just hanging in there before progressing into a charity giveaway bag. Not if you know your true colours that will elevate your look and mood as well as save money and the environment. Based on this colour analysis we can create a capsule wardrobe using your existing pieces and follow your colour chart to purchase matching items in future. Whatever fashion dictates, buying less and more consciously will reduce waste, save money and creates a wonderful wardrobe you can be proud of! The analysis is based on inherited tones as well as personality. Based on 4 seasons: spring and autumn being warm and summer and winter cool in the colour spectrum.

In this workshop, your child will create a selection of New Years Eve themed crafts including a rosette and 2024 calendar! The will be a break for squash and a snack and also a mini New Year countdown. This workshop is aimed at age 5+ and you may drop them off or stay for the session. Any age is also welcome along if you’re happy to craft with your little one, there is a 10% discount for all siblings. I will also be running Little Crafters session aimed at age 4 and under in the morning. Francesca Wyllie (BA Hons Fine Art) has an amazing north-facing art studio at El Retiro in Andalucia, which was purpose-built to accommodate painting groups. Bespoke painting and sculpture workshops can be arranged or Francesca can travel locally to guide you in your own studios or locations.
