The practice of mindful stargazing is about immersing yourself in the experience of the night time and developing a first-hand, experiential knowledge of what it is not to look out at the Universe, but to &lsquo;be&rsquo; in this vast Universe of ours. During the evening we&rsquo;ll be exploring a variety of mindful stargazing practices, focussing on contemplating our place within the cosmos and our connections to it &ndash; scientifically, energetically and spiritually.&nbsp;Before going outside, we&rsquo;ll practice a cosmic body scan, sensing different parts of our body and how they&rsquo;re made of stuff that was produced in stars billions of years ago. Then as we go outdoors, we&rsquo;ll spend some time immersing ourselves in the experience of the night sky as it is (clear or cloudy), and explore how we can feel part of the cosmos, at home in this vast universe of ours. Mark Westmoquette is an ex-professional astronomer with 10 years 
research experience, and now is a full-time yoga and mindfulness teacher

Dr Deborah Kingston and Dr Jonathan Hutchins have created a brand new workshop on how to adapt EMDR to work with clients who are Neurodivergent! The workshop will take place via zoom on Friday the 26th of September 2025. 

The goal of this workshop is to improve all of our understanding and skills when working with people who have diagnoses of Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dyspraxia Tourette Syndrome and Acquired Neurodivergence. 

The goal of the training is to consider how we can best clinically adapt our therapy across all 8 phases of the EMDR standard protocol with this client group. The day will consider a range of difficulties but it will not be an advanced workshop on one specific diagnosis such as Autism. 

Both presenters of the workshop are themselves neurodivergent we hope this will add to the richness of the material and discussions on the day. 

We are currently working on a paper for EMDR Quarterly on EMDR with Neurodivergence which will overlap with the workshop and include several suggested adaptations of the EMDR standard protocol with this client group. 

The workshop has been granted 6 CPD credits from the EMDR UK Association!


Aims of the workshop: 

1. To cover neuro-divergence, what this means and diagnoses that may underpin this label
2. To recap the EMDR Standard Protocol
3. To focus on adaptations of the standard protocol to this client group 
4. Skills practice and case discussion

Learning Outcomes: 

1. To improve practitioners knowledge and awareness of neurodivergence and how it may present clinically. 
2. To give practitioners knowledge of adaptations to the standard protocol and how these may be used to support clients with neurodivergence.
3. To offer practical solutions to practitioners difficulties when working with neurodivergent clients. through practitioners emailing us before the workshop with difficulties and then for us to case discuss/formulate and propose solutions to. 
4. To consider if an adapted protocol could be considered for this client group. 

Equality Diversity and Inclusion Aims: 
1. To promote inclusion to EMDR therapy by adapting to neurodivergent client needs. 
2. To support neurodivergent clients through giving practitioners confidence in using EMDR with this client group to support them in managing in a neurotypical culture. 
3. To consider difficulties in diagnoses for ASD and ADHD with women and within non white western culture and to consider cultural bias in diagnosis and the construct of these diagnoses.
4. To consider how it may be more likely for people from White British background to get a formal diagnosis of ASD/ADHD opposed people from a BAME and also from socially deprived communities.

The structure of the motorsport system, the role of the promoter and the impact motorsport as an industry can have on the world of engineering feature heavily to give you a rounded understanding of how far motorsport has travelled.

Ethics in Sports Management & Governance
15 Credits
The law and motorsport are not disconnected. National and international governing bodies will provide the backdrop for this module in a twenty first century world. Motorsport has been beset by governance and ethical issues in the past and has worked hard to create a reliable and consistent level of control across the world that can uphold the values and absorb the challenges of modern-day sport. You will learn the most profound ethical challenges facing motorsport along with comparisons from other national and international sports, resulting in effective and sympathetic knowledge for the world of motorsport.

Module 3
Commerce within Motorsport
15 Credits
Budgets and financial management are the keys to this module. Your lectures will walk you through some of the most engaging methods of financial management relating to competition in motorsport. You will look at teams, drivers and management costs of venues, together with the importance of considering commercial opportunities and brand support. Tracks and circuit profit will be high on the agenda of discussion ensuring you understand the relevance of effective financial planning and how money can be spent appropriately to benefit the consumer experience.

Module 4
Sponsorship Models in Elite Motorsport & The Role of the Media
15 Credits
Many believe the key to success in motorsport is a sponsorship deal. This module will walk you through the merits and pitfalls of sponsorship from both a sponsor and sponsee perspective as well as a venue, and rights holder remit. Principles of market research, rights evaluation, activation, the mechanics of the media through to measurement analytics and more, will provide you with a comprehensive opportunity to explore the challenging process of commercial support in motorsport.

A Degree of second-class honours classification or higher in any business, sport or engineering related subject.
OR
Industry Experience
Students with lower or without entry qualifications but with significant and relevant sport, business, motorsport or automotive industry experience at a senior level can also be admitted on to the programme. Each application will be considered on an individual basis.
International Students
NMA recognises equivalent international qualifications and these will be considered on an individual basis
Applications are welcome from all International Students with a good standard of English
If English is not your first language an IELTS certificate with a score of 6.5 (minimum) or equivalent qualification is required.
