An exploration of energy practices (qigong) in movement and stillness designed to help us find a sense of connection to our cosmic self - the view of ourselves as a being from, within, and of, the universe.
After some warm up movements for the body and mind, we'll bring awareness to the dantian (tanden) energy centre. Then we'll explore a set of qigong movements whilst holding in mind a different cosmic theme each week (e.g. gravity, moving within the cosmos, explosion/catastrophe). We'll finish the session with the microcosmic orbit meditation practice.
In these sessions, Mark will bring together his background as a PhD Astrophycisist and long-time practitioner of yoga, qigong, taichi and other energy work.
Suitable for all who have a curiosity about knowing and feeling our place as part of the universe. The movements will be gentle and accessible to all with reasonable mobility.
"Mindful movements guide by Mark’s gentle instruction brought me to a place of restorative energy, cosmic connection, and peace." – Steve M
“I find the gentle movements that we do to be very relaxing and I always sleep very well afterwards.” – Dave A
