The Proactive Safeguarding Practitioner (Adults) Spanning 6 weeks, this course is designed to be interactive and fun, with minimal time spent on legislation and maximum time getting to the detail of why effective safeguarding must focus on being proactive and prophylactic to the warning signs of safety NOT responsive and reactionary after an event! This is an upgrade to and will replace, the already existing City & Guilds 17th Edition Wiring Regulations all subsequent amendments. Course Description: If you have passed your 17th Edition since the last amendment then you are eligible to take this short 1 day 18th Edition update course! Save time and money by covering the topics you need for the new regulations, without having to go over all that you already know. If you have not yet done the 17th Edition then you will need to take our 3 day 18th Edition course. Changes for 18th Edition are as follows: Protection against overvoltages – Clause 443 is likely to be overhauled. Protection against fire – Chapter 42 will be updated with extra information on arc fault detection Electrical Embedded heating – Section 753 will be extended to include embedded electrical heating systems for surface heating, and will include de-icing and frost prevention systems. Energy efficiency – There will be a brand new section covering energy efficiency Please be aware that the Wiring Regulations course is not designed to teach you every regulation in the book but it will teach you the best practices on how to reference the latest regulations as you would on the job. As such key topics currently covered on the 17th Edition will still be included. City & Guilds The City & Guilds 2382-22 course will replace the current C&G 2382-15 certificate. This upgrade course will outline the change in the regulations and candidates must complete an online, multiple choice exam. Focus: You will study the latest standard of the IEE wiring regulations, including essential subjects such as safety, selection and erection of electrical equipment. Virtual Classroom – Our hi tec virtual learning suite enables you as the trainee to experience exactly the same course and level of interaction with a trainer as though you were in the same room as them. This isn’t a slideshow-based course, it’s a real tutor, in a real room taking you through all you need to know to be successful in your City and Guilds 2391 – 52. Utilising equipment and software, the theoretical part of the course will be taught over 3 days via the internet. During this time, you will be taught the theory-based elements below, also allowing ample time for questions face to face with the tutor. The instructor will go through everything that you will be expected to know about Inspection and Testing on both new and existing installations. You will be given access to our dedicated online portal to work through sample questions in your own time until the information becomes second nature to you. Your only hardware prerequisite for this part of the course is access to the internet, whether it be on a computer or a smart device. The second stage of the course will involve you attending one of our numerous training centres around the UK, for both the practical training and the examinations over a 2.5 day period. This will be booked for a later date and one of our team will be in touch with you to arrange this. During your time at one of our centres you will be taught the inspection and testing practical elements you require on individual training rigs, with equipment and testers for each and every individual person. (Our centres are ALL Covid secure and the training bays, etc are all socially distanced). This City & Guilds qualification is aimed at practicing electricians who have not carried out inspection and testing since qualifying or who require some update of training. This qualification helps you to develop the knowledge and practical skills required to professionally install and carry out initial verification and periodic inspection and testing on electrical installations. It is expected that suitable candidates have a basic knowledge and understanding of electrical science and principles and experience of electrical installation work. This is an essential skill for any electrical installer.

This course introduces the key principles and technologies involved in smart homes and describes some basic forms that smart homes can take. It discusses the progress from initial consultation with the client through the various stages of the project in the order they would ordinarily occur, including commissioning and handover. In depth technical information, including operational safety and telecommunication cabling, is explored within the context of stages it would occur in the project.

Endorsed by City & Guilds for the new 2020 2377 Electrical Equipment Maintenance and testing qualification, the course covers the requirements of the 5th Edition of The Code of Practice for the In‑Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment. The Code of Practice has been extensively updated and includes the requirements for managing and carrying out the in-service inspection and testing of electrical equipment. As part of the course, learners will have access to three practice examination tests in order to prepare for the City & Guilds In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment 2377. A certificate of completion is issued upon finishing the course which can then be presented to your local assessment centre in order to take the exam.

Who is this Level 3 NVQ aimed at? The experienced worker qualification is for practising electricians with at least 5 years experience but have never formally completed an industry apprenticeship or equivalent Level 3 NVQ Qualification. This is suitable for self-employed and employed electricians. This is the Level 3 pathway for practising electricians to obtain your ECS Gold Card and JIB Grading. To complete the full qualification you will also need to: Have completed an AM2e Assessment Have a current Wiring Regulations Qualification BS7671 Have an initial verification qualification such as a C&G 2391-50 What’s involved in the qualification? After an initial Skills Scan, we will discuss the gaps that need to be filled and you will be assessed using a range of methods to complete the evidence gathering process.There will also be Professional Discussions to discuss areas of expertise and you can choose either an installation or maintenance route based on the work you carry out.There are seven Performance Units to be assessed for the qualification, these are: Apply Practices and Procedures for Maintenance Apply Health, Safety and Environmental Considerations Organise and Oversee the Electrical Work Environment Apply Design and Installation Practices and Procedures Terminate and Connect Conductors Inspect, Test and Commission Electrical Systems Apply Fault Diagnosis and Rectification On completion of the Experienced Worker assessment you will be able to use the qualification to apply for a JIB Gold Card. This qualification is for experienced electricians who can demonstrate over 5 years experience.It is not suitable for new entrants or those currently on an apprenticeship.
