This IMI qualification is designed for technicians who maintain, diagnose and repair high and low voltage operating systems on electric/hybrid vehicles. It contains the skills and knowledge required to work safely around a vehicles high and low voltage electrical system and electric drive train system, whilst carrying out repairs or maintenance. It also contains the knowledge and skills required to work safely around the vehicle that may have had damage to its high energy/electrical system. On completing this qualification, technicians will have gained knowledge of both low and high voltage technologies and an understanding of their dangers. The content of this qualification has been designed to give learners the knowledge and skills required to work safely around Electric/Hybrid vehicles whilst carrying our diagnostic, testing and repair activities.
The Total EAL Inspection and Testing Level 3 package. The objective of this course is to provide you with an understanding of the practices/theory involved in the initial verification and commissioning of electrical installations and will cover both single and three phase systems. This EAL Combined 4337 and 4338 electrical course is ideal for people with limited experience of initial inspection, testing and verification and/or periodic inspection and testing of electrical installations. If you already work as an Electrician, but have not carried out inspection and testing since qualifying, or you require to update before moving onto other qualifications, then this may be the course for you. The objective of the course is to give you a good understanding of the theory/practices required to do both a periodic inspection and initial verification/commissioning of electrical installations. The course will improve both your inspection/testing and periodic skills.

18th Edition Course Description: At this time the 18th edition course is a 3 day short course clearly aimed at anyone involved in the design, construction, inspection and testing of electrical installations & systems, equally it is a nationally recognised ‘must have’ qualification for companies seeking to recruit electricians, or indeed individuals joining Part P Schemes. Every electrical installation that was designed to the 18th edition regulations (which was released in July 2018) or all electrical installations from 2019 onwards will have been to the 18th edition of the IET Wiring Regulations BS7671 2018. Firstly it is intended to introduce the candidate to a working knowledge of the Wiring Regulations (BS7671 IET) whilst also giving a brief overview of the Electricity at Work Regulations covering their statutory duties. Previous knowledge of the regulations is not assumed, however, a fundamental knowledge of electrical principles is assumed. Please be aware that the 18th Edition course is not designed to teach you every electrical regulation in the BS7671 nevertheless it will teach you the best practices on how the reference the latest regulations as you would on the job. As such key topics currently covered on the 17th Edition will still be included. We have been delivering 18th Edition courses for many years and although it is mainly theory based you cannot beat real training, in a real classroom. Furthermore by training with other people in your class you will benefit from being able to ask relevant questions as well as finding the answers to many questions from your fellow students that you may not have even thought of. The examination is a 2 hour multiple choice, open book PC meaning you will be allowed to take a copy of the BS 7671:2018+A2:2022 IET WIRING REGULATIONS just as you would in the real world. It is also a PC based examination with instant results. The course cost includes examination entry fees. On completion of the training and Examination you will be awarded with the 18th edition qualification City & Guilds 2382.
