In this wonderfully creative private session, you will make, decorate, and glaze your unique hand-built pieces from clay for firing. You will learn a range of hand building techniques to create beautiful pieces that you can cherish forever. Examples of what you can make include vases, dishes, plaques, tiles, plant pots, candle holders and much more.

The qualification is aimed at all staff, particularly new starters in any workplace, where a basic understanding of fire safety is required.

Our Pedicure course is designed to enable candidates to offer a professional pedicure service to the public. Pedicures have always featured as a popular service in salons. Pedicures are a very popular and relaxing treatment to do; you will learn how to adapt this treatment from a basic pedicure to a luxury treatment including exfoliation, masks, heated booties and paraffin wax. THE REQUIREMENTS No experience is necessary to attend this course. Salon attire must be worn during the course. Student must have clean nail without enhancements. To ensure maximum practice students will be required to work on each other throughout the day. Student need to bring own model for the day 3. Within this day you will learn how to mould a part of your/your partners/ your childs body in a safe, non toxic, water based material called alginate. You will then learn how to make a cast from that mould using a sculpture plaster. Once the cast is removed from the mould you will learn how to 'fettle' the cast in other words make it perfect, then you'll have the option of adding a colour to the cast or mounting it on a stand. What you learn during the course can be used to cast your children's hands and feet when you're back at home, I can supply all the materials you need to do this. I've been running this type of workshop for 25 years so I'm very experienced in the process. I cast my own mothers hands about a year before she died and they are my most prized possessions as they have picked up so much detail

What do you need to bring with you?Camera/lenses/Spare memory card/batteries/tripod - A digital camera with "semi-automatic/manual" controls (Aperture and Shutter priority) is recommended to get the most from the course. Filters (if you have them) A packed lunch/snacks The relevant user manual for your camera Warm/waterproof clothing and suitable footwear - weather can be unpredictable all year round in Snowdonia. A notepad and pen What happens in bad weather?I monitor weather forecasts and if conditions are predicted to be completely unsuitable, to ensure both your safety and enjoyment of the day, it may be necessary to cancel a workshop. Basically, how do you manage without a studio and all its controllability, and end up satisfied with an expressive and successful portrait?It is essential to take the environment into consideration when composing a portrait. Managing the background's colours and graphics, choosing the point of view, directing the model - these are all points that will be covered during the course.Light control is an equally important aspect; in particular, analysing a given moment's light and using it wisely are elements that will be explained to help you make a successful portrait.This workshop will teach you:- How to observe the environment so as to guide your aesthetic choices: point of view, directing a model- How to "read" light and place your subject accordingly- How to correctly define parameters in your camera according to your desired result- How to frame and compose an image to highlight the subjectThe workshop includes a theoretical explanation, a main "practical" part, as well as a class debriefing at the end.
