This course focuses on effective negotiation techniques to be successful in different situations and with people holding different levels of power. 2 - Syringe and Needle (open system): Correct use and applications.
3 - Monovette (open and closed systems):
Using the Monovette system in aspiration mode - correct use and applications.
Using the Monovette system in evacuated mode - correct use and applications.
4 - IR Vein Detector:
Demonstration of the IR vein detector for assisting in detection of difficult veins.
5 - Veins in back of hand:
Detecting suitable veins in the back of the hand.
6 - POC testing:
Point of Care Testing - use of glucose meter to demonstrate a typical POC test procedure. Correct use and overview of other POC test devices.
7 - Using lancets (finger collection)
We look at the correct use of lancets for POC testing and whole blood micro-collection.
8 - Using lancets (heel collection)
We look at the correct use of lancets for neonatal blood spot tests (Guthrie Test).
9 - Capillary collection
Using glass capillary tubes for micro-collection. Correct use and handling.
10 - Microtube collection
Correct use of BD Microtainers (and similar micro-collection bottles) - collection and handling.

Research from the University of Central Lancashire in 2020 revealed that approximately 60% of emergency services personnel felt unprepared for the psychological impact of their job duties, especially when handling traumatic incidents. Additionally, a 2021 study by the Law Society found that many solicitors experience high levels of stress and burnout, with 70% of respondents reporting that the pressures of their profession significantly affect their mental health.

Based on the evidence-based method of Emotional Logic, this course will introduce you to a healthy adjustment process that avoids unhelpful coping strategies. Instead, it offers practical methods that align with your emotions and personality. You will learn to use an activity pack filled with tools and resources that will help you understand your emotional triggers and patterns, as well as discover the healthy reasons behind them. Format and Delivery
4 weekly live Zoom sessions.
A format that mixes workshop, lecturing and facilitating. 
Participants can ask questions at any time. 
You will receive a hard copy of the Activity Pack (designed for various learning styles.)
There will be no recordings to keep everyone emotionally and psychologically safe. (However, we can schedule a short recap session if you cannot attend a meeting because you are unwell.)
Weekly follow-up email with additional resources not yet included in the Activity Pack.

This one-day course is a must for anyone considering or already working within a construction or civil engineering environment. This course provides Health and Safety awareness and is endorsed by Build UK as a standard training for all operatives on site.
Aims
To give a clear understanding of Regulations & Legislation that applies to construction work and is an ideal refresher for any operative that has previously completed training in Health & Safety.
Course Content
• Accident prevention
• Health & Safety law
• Control and management of the site and your how your role fits in with this
• Risk assessments and method statements
• Performing safely on site
• Reporting unsafe acts to prevent an accident
• Individual & employee responsibilities
• What to do if you think anyone’s Health and Safety is being put at risk
Assessment
At the end of this course, all delegates will have a clear understanding of the requirements of Health and Safety Legislation and their responsibilities to comply with them.
Candidates will need to complete a multiple-choice exam at the end of the CITB course. They will also need to engage and interact with others throughout the day.
Certificate
This certification for this course is valid for 5 years and is endorsed by Build UK as a standard training for all operatives. The certificate is part of CSCS Green Card requirements.
To remain certified in this area, you will need to retake the course before the expiry date or have completed an NVQ2 or higher in your skills set.
Instructions
Please note all Health & Safety Awareness courses with the venue “Remote Learning” will be delivered by a tutor over a video call.
This training will be delivered and assessed in English language; therefore, a good standard is required to complete the course.
