Decaying Structures in Knitting is an experimental knitting workshop, exploring ways to create holes and open surfaces using simple hand knitting techniques.&nbsp; Exploiting the properties of the fibre, the session will also look at creating eroded surfaces using both heat and chemicals methods.

<li>Making patterns and random holes using casting on and off techniques</li>
<li>Using a heat gun to produce an eroded surface on synthetic materials</li>
<li>Applying devor&eacute; paste to knitting to create both textural and colour effects</li>
</ul>
There will be demonstrations of knitting and yarn making techniques, plus a worksheet, PowerPoint presentation and samples to inspire further ideas after the session.
All levels of ability are welcome. The workshop is aimed at anyone with an interest in textiles or mixed media sculpture, wishing to explore the artistic potential of knitting. The emphasis is on creating experimental samples, rather than a finished piece.

City and Guilds 2391-51, level 3, is ideal for people with limited experience of periodic inspection of electrical installations. If you are already working as an Electrician, but have not carried out inspection and testing since qualifying, or you require to update before moving onto other qualifications, then this 5 day City and Guilds 2391-51 course will be right for you. City and Guilds 2391-51 Course Content: Principles, practices and legislation for the periodic inspection, testing and condition reporting of electrical installations. Requirements for completing the safe isolation of electrical circuits and installations Requirements for inspecting, testing and recording the condition of electrical installations Requirements for completing the periodic inspection of electrical installations Differences between periodic inspection and initial verification Requirements for safe testing of electrical installations which have been put in to service Requirements for testing before circuits are live.
