About this training course
This 5-days comprehensive training not only an introduction into the issue associated with the development of oil and gas fields but also provides an in depth understanding of the issues to be considered in the development of these fields. The theme throughout this training course is Flow Assurance and Innovative Technologies. Each day consists of lectures in the morning and a hands-on workshop in the afternoon. The workshop allows the participants to appreciate the design process associated with field developments. Various software will be available during the workshop to predict Multiphase flows through wells, pipelines and risers, as well as evaluating reservoir production profiles using alternative technologies to develop reservoirs. Further software to assess Surge and environmental safety will also be available.
The field design approach will consider an integrated solution through modelling the reservoir decline, wells, flowlines, risers and the host facility. The participants will have a total appreciation of the methodology required to develop offshore oil and gas fields and have an understanding of all of the Flow Assurance issues and technology requirements.

About this Training Course 
The technical role of the operations geologist is critical to the successful and safe drilling of a well. A clear understanding of the subsurface data in the planning and execution of the well is vital and is the main focus of this course.
A large amount of geological data is acquired at a substantial cost when carrying out a drilling operation. Well location and design input will require inputs from the operations geologist to avoid drilling hazards, plan casing points and data acquisition strategy. Ensuring safe and quality acquisition of this information, correct interpretation and effective communication is a key part of the operation geologist’s role during drilling operations. The close co-operation between geological, drilling and well engineering departments ensures optimal and safe drilling of the well.
This 4-day course aims to provide the participants with the foundational knowledge to be effective as an operations geologist. The course will comprise lectures interspersed with practical and interactive exercises as well as quizzes to promote better understanding for the participants.

About this Training Course
A decision to drill an exploration well with the objective to find a new oil or gas field must be based on a sound assessment of the prospect’s risks and of the volumes: What is the chance that a well will find hydrocarbons, and how much could it be? Risk and volume assessments form the basis for decisions to drill a well or not, and as such, it is the link between subsurface evaluation and the business aspects of the petroleum industry.
This 3 full-day course explains how risks and volumes can be assessed in a realistic manner based on a sound understanding of the geological details of the prospect and its regional geological setting and our play understanding.

TRAINING OBJECTIVES
By the end of this course, the participants will be able to:
Translate geological understanding of prospects and hydrocarbon plays into realistic numbers and ranges for calculating the probability of Success (POS) and volume ranges of undrilled prospects.
Know how Chance Factors for risk elements can be determined as objectively as possible.
Confidently select uncertainty distributions that are consistent with the understanding of uncertainties in prospects.
Understand how the input parameters for volume assessments impact probabilistically calculated volumes.
Appreciate the volume promise and related uncertainties of undrilled prospects from expectation curves and frequency plots (probability density functions).
Understand how to communicate prospect volumes, and when zero- or commercial cut-off volumes should be used.
Understand the impact of dependencies between prospects and know how to add prospect volumes statistically correct for a realistic volume promise of a portfolio of prospects.
Determine a realistic final POS for prospects with direct hydrocarbon indicators (DHIs) and/or controlled source electromagnetics (CSEM) anomalies.
