Policies and Procedures are scrutinised by our auditors Jelf Risk Management, and provide our Health & Safety Management services. Our Youth Staff on an evening carry current DBS checks, safe guarding training, first aid and fire marshal competence. All staff receive personal health and safety booklets annually for which they sign for as read, and risk assessments as well as operational standard procedures are undertaken for activities and basic duties reviewed by the internal IOSH trained Managing Safely Officer and externally by Jelf Risk Management. Accident forms and incident forms are completed for all those reported on site and held accordingly. Health & Safety and Environmental statements are reviewed annually and are on display to the centre’s users. Club polices including; safe guarding and child protection, harassment, grievance, bullying, drugs and alcohol are held on site and reviewed/managed by our Welfare Officer. Club rules and procedures, including GDPR privacy notices are written on membership forms and displayed in all prominent areas of the centre.CCTV surveillance on site supports the security of the building, its staff, volunteers and users/members. Any concerns in relation to the use of Richmond Park, including anti-social behaviour, drugs and alcohol use (adjacent to our Club) should be reported to the local authorities (Police and Council). Hinckley Club For Young People have no authority or responsibility in events that take place outside of its perimeter.

AUDE is run by an executive committee of university directors of estates that provides strategic oversight to the organisation. They make recommendations on several of the association aspects such as subscription fees and the annual budget as well as managing the election of office holders. Members vote at the AGM to apply or amend recommendations, and elect the officers. The executive committee meets four times a year, discussing and responding to matters presented by the fellow directors (directly and through regional chairs), and by the executive director and staff team. The committee receives the executive director’s quarterly report, which contains updates from each of the topic-based working groups. The meetings are also used to discuss and act on the organisation’s financial performance throughout the year. Furthermore, the meetings provide a useful sounding board and guide to the executive director, Jane White, and the AUDE team in determining the services provided to members and projects undertaken. The team comprises of five members of staff employed on permanent contracts: Executive Director (1.0 FTE) Projects and Engagement Manager (1.0FTE) Events Manager (0.8 FTE) Communications Officer (0.5 FTE) Events and Projects Officer (0.8 FTE) AUDE is a not-for-profit organisation and receives its core funding from member institution subscriptions and training and development activities. It is sustainable, with healthy financial reserves in line with its agreed financial model.

Since then, CAWS has expanded to providing its services from a handful of schools to over 40 schools. CAWS has at its fingertips, the knowledge and expertise of a qualified Education Welfare Officer with more than 20 years’ experience in relation to education and school attendance. CAWS is a focused, committed and positive company, who provides schools, parents, children and young people with support, advice, and knowledge with regard to attendance and welfare concerns at school. Chris Barson founded Positive About Autism in January 2009. Prior to that Chris was External Training Manager for the National Autistic Society. Chris has a long involvement with disability and autism. After studying drama at the Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff he started out as a drama tutor with Arts for Disabled People in Wales. Chris trained as a learning disabilities Nurse at University Hospital Wales. After qualifying Chris became a Community Nurse for people with learning disabilities. Moving from Community Nursing into a specialist setting, Chris gained experience in intensive support for people who present a severe challenge to services. Chris first joined the National Autistic Society (NAS) in 1996 as a Project Officer in Wales on a Children in Need project reviewing short term care provision. After working with the NAS Regional Development Team promoting service development throughout the UK. Chris went to work at the Royal College of General Practitioners, in 2000, where he managed Professional Development and Quality programmes. Chris rejoined NAS in 2004.Chris has contributed to the design and delivery of courses provided by Canterbury Christ Church University, and University of Cumbria. Chris is a contributing author to ‘The Autism Spectrum in the 21st Century:Exploring Psychology, Biology and Practice’ Jessica Kingsley Press 2010 (Highly Commended 2011 BMA Medical Book Awards)
