After 2 sell-out events, we've migrated to Vittoria Wharf for an afternoon of movement, plant medicine, and connection. Expect our signature epic tunes, delicious heart-opening cacao, and grounding Rapé to help you drop in. It’s the week before Melissa’s birthday, so join us to celebrate, Numinity-style - uplifting, free-spirited, and community-centred! This alcohol and drug-free space is your chance to leave the outside world behind, move freely, express yourself fully, and connect with our incredible community. Event Flow: Doors open at 1.30pm No entry after 2.15pm to maintain the integrity of the space. There'll be warm-up music from 1.30 - 2.15pm to help you settle in. Rapé will be served between 1.30 and 2.15pm - please book this when you book your ticket if you would like to receive Rapé. At 2.15pm, we’ll share a ceremonial Cacao together, a sacred plant medicine to open your heart and energise your body, preparing you for the dance. The dance begins at 2.30pm. Holly, our phenomenal resident DJ, will guide you through an eclectic mix of latin, house, tribal, and uplifting beats. Known for her ability to craft sets that permeate the body, mind, and soul, Holly will take you on a journey where every track invites you to move more freely and feel more alive. Cool down & Medicine Songs from 4 - 4.30pm. After the dance, we'll help you ground with a gentle cool-down session. Soften into stillness as we serenade you with some soothing medicine songs. Venue: Vittoria Wharf is one of the last remaining original warehouse spaces in Hackney Wick. The space is flooded with natural light, creating an inviting atmosphere perfect for connection and dance. With its unique blend of old and new, Vittoria Wharf serves both the vibrant incoming community, as well as honouring the long-standing creative groups and traditions that make Hackney Wick such a special place to live and work. The venue also features a beautiful balcony, offering a serene spot to take in the view. Etiquette: To create a safe and sacred space for everyone: No talking on the dance floor - let your body do the communicating. This is a sober event. Help us keep the space light and clear. Join Dr Andrew Morrice for a deep dive into what the latest mind-body research tells us about the impact of sleep, the microbiome, nutrition, culinary practices and more on our mental and physical health, and recovery … Length: 1 day (9.30am - 4.00pm) A brilliant framework to understand the neurobiology of our needs and how to manage stressDR ALLY JAFFEE, NHS DOCTOR Why take this course Sleep and sound nutrition are widely recognised to be essential to mental health – this day gives you an opportunity to learn about these two areas in depth, including the role of the Microbiome. A greater understanding of these two areas can be vital in freeing ourselves from the ‘mind-only mindset’ to help us quickly and effectively resolve many of our difficulties in life. Sleep has always been integral to the human givens approach and this course is a chance to catch up on recent advances in understanding and evidence as to which approaches best help with poor sleep. We will explore how sleep allows for the physical recuperation, learning and emotional regulation that are key to improving many mental health problems. The role of food and the microbiome in mental health is seldom part of managing the immediate challenges we face, yet is so important in preventing difficulties, or maintaining recovery, that it is an area in which we can benefit from feeling greater confidence when guiding and advising our clients (or ourselves!). Throughout the day, tutor and GP Andrew Morrice draws on the latest research and his decades of experience managing the complex combination of mental and physical health problems in General Practice (20 of those years, using the Human Givens model), to take us on a deep dive into two of the key interfaces between mind and body: sleep and food, and their effects on our health. Andrew is a most inspiring teacher who is passionate about his subject. If you previously attended Andrew Morrice’s Mind-Body Connection course, and would like to spend more time on practical applications, the microbiome, the interface between diet and mental health and to thoroughly review the topic of sleep – this course is for you. Please note: you don’t need to have attended the previous Mind-Body Connection course to come on this one, or its sister course ‘Movement, Emotion and Calm’. This course has been independently accredited by the internationally recognised CPD Standards Office for 6 hours of CPD training. On completion of this training you’ll receive CPD certificates from the College and the CPD Standards Office.
