Lou uses watercolour to create simple and approachable patterns that allow you to get acquainted with this medium in a way that helps you focus, shut out the outside world and simply create.&nbsp;In this workshop, we&rsquo;ll paint three watercolour projects, learning to use the paints to create a number of effects, we&rsquo;ll learn how to mix and blend colours on the palette or on the page, and we&rsquo;ll embellish our paintings with details in pen and with gold watercolour.This workshop is perfect if you&rsquo;re new to watercolour and offers a really beautiful way to explore the medium, it&rsquo;s also good if you&rsquo;re experienced in watercolour and are interested in using your painting and drawing time to relax and de-stress.

Minimum number no refund policy
To ensure we can always pay our creatives a fair fee, we require a minimum number of bookings for each workshop and for this reason bookings are non-refundable. Should we have to cancel due to low numbers, we will offer you the option to swap to an alternative date or workshop, or to request a refund.
We do our very best to avoid cancellations. Since we often get late bookings, we keep our workshops on sale for as long as possible. We realise that some of you travel from afar, so if you book a space and have not yet received an email confirming your workshop is going ahead and need to make plans for your trip, please get in touch before booking any travel or accommodation so we can update you on booking numbers. On this Introduction to lino printing onto fabric workshop, local artist Suzanne Kemplay will help you explore ways of creating simple images and striking patterns from which you will print your own, unique tote bag or tea towel.
This is a hands-on, practical and fun workshop where you will learn how to create an original design, cut your design onto lino, add ink, and print onto fabric. You will gain the confidence you need to create beautiful prints at home without the need for expensive equipment. You can bring your own fabric, or plain t-shirt to the workshop if you wish.
The price includes access to all the equipment and materials you will need.

The workshop space is in our open plan living space and is not nut free. Please let us know about any skin or food allergies before booking. We offer a dairy-free milk and gluten free snack alternative.
Minimum number no refund policy
To ensure we can always pay our creatives a fair fee, we require a minimum number of bookings for each workshop and for this reason bookings are non-refundable. Should we have to cancel due to low numbers, we will offer you the option to swap to an alternative date or workshop, or to request a refund.
We do our very best to avoid cancellations. Since we often get late bookings, we keep our workshops on sale for as long as possible. We realise that some of you travel from afar, so if you book a space and have not yet received an email confirming your workshop is going ahead and need to make plans for your trip, please get in touch before booking any travel or accommodation so we can update you on booking numbers. On this fun, workshop with local artist Lucy Wayman, you will learn how to make a macram&eacute; plant hanger which can also double as fabulous hanging storage with the addition of a fruit bowl or jewellery pot!
With hands-on help from Lucy, you will learn the basic principles and techniques of macram&eacute;, and will build your confidence making small keyring designs. Using 100% cotton rope and a selection of coloured twines, you will then create your hand-crafted hanger.&nbsp;

Gyamfia Osei joined ANA in 2023 as a Literary Agent in the UK department. She was previously an agent at The Good Literary Agency, where she began building her list of authors. Recent successes include a ‘significant’ 6-figure pre-empt for Busayo Matuluko’s YA debut ‘Til Death, a 5-way auction for Quiet Storm by Kimberly Whittam and the shortlisting of Ebinehita Iyere’s Girlhood, Unfiltered at the 2023 British Book Awards. She was also a Bookseller Rising Star in 2024!

At ANA, Gyamfia is focusing on developing the agency’s list of children’s authors, while also representing a bespoke list of commercial adult fiction and narrative non-fiction.

In the Children’s space, Gyamfia would love to find contemporary stories that are full of heart and joy-driven books across all genres (think Clare Weze, Kimberly Whittam and Elle McNicoll). Funny middle-grade and YA horror are currently at the top of her list and she is also keen to read more teen projects (think Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging and Glow Up Lara Bloom) this year. In the older fiction space, Gyamfia enjoys well-plotted, fast-paced narratives with authentic characters who lodge themselves in her mind long after she’s finished reading (think Sadie, Verity and Girl A). She’s open to a broad range of genres, but would be particularly keen to see romantasy, cosy crime, contemporary romance and tightly plotted domestic noir. 

Please note that Gyamfia doesn’t consider literary fiction and, in the commercial space, she is not hugely interested in very high fantasy, trauma-focused stories or particularly gruesome horror.

In the non-fiction space, she would be happy to consider commercial narrative non-fiction and cultural history projects (think Brit(ish), It’s Not That Radical and Everything I Know About Love). She is very open when it comes to Children’s non-fiction but would be particularly interested to consider unique cookbooks aimed at young chefs, books exploring mental health/wellness and projects that bring the experiences of marginalised children to the forefront.

Gyamfia would like you to submit a covering letter, 1 page synopsis and the opening three chapters (max 5,000 words). For picture books please send two texts and a covering letter. For non-fiction please supply a cover letter and proposal with up to 5,000 words of your sample text.

Please send EITHER picture books OR another genre, not both in one submission.

It will take 6 months including 24 live sessions, 2 hours each, mainly in a weekly rhythm. You will get preparatory videos, reading material and tasks that help to understand and integrate the content, while the group sessions focus on demonstrations, discusion of the material, and practical exercises for you. All the time, our trainers and tutors will support you and we’ll be a learning family with an active chatgroup. Altogether you should reckon approximately 5 hours per week.
To cover most time zones, the schedule will be tuesdays at 17:00 GMT (London), starting on 7 January 2025.

You’ll learn META-Health from scratch. Those who have absolved a MHI Level 1 training within the last year get a discount of 20% of the training fee.
This training prepares you for the certification process to become licensed as META-Health professional.
Certification is optional. Even if you aren’t a health professional, you may enter the training to deepen your knowledge, understanding and resources for becoming and staying healthy – however be aware that basic knowledge of biology and anatomy will be very helpful!
