Agile Sprint Planning: In-House Training The goal of the course is to provide you and your team with the ability to develop effective and realistic Sprint plans. Without effective Sprint Plans, iterations are set up for failure. But Sprint Planning cannot be improved on its own, in isolation. The Scrum processes are highly intertwined and influence each other. The surrounding artifacts, events, and roles must be examined closely, and enhanced, in order to improve Sprint Planning. This course will remind you of the theory to reinforce the principles, but will concentrate on next-level skills, so that you and the team are able to create realistic and usable Sprint Plans. This course is not introductory. You are already aware of the Scrum framework and have been implementing Scrum on your projects. If you already hold the CPCS A40 Slinger/Signaller qualification, on completion of this course you will also achieve the CPCS A62 Crane Supervisor qualification. Course Content On completion of the course, students will understand: Roles and responsibilities of lifting operations personnel Legislation, regulations and codes of practice Duties of the Appointed Person Thorough examination and certification Selection of cranes Lifting capacity and duties charts Crane positioning and configuration Selection and use of lifting accessories Methods of communication Carrying out a risk assessment Preparing a method statement Crane plan and elevation drawings Entry Requirements Candidates should have sufficient experience of cranes to meet the requirements specified in British Standard 7121 Safe Use of Cranes. Candidates must have achieved the Managers CITB Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E) Touchscreen test no more than two (2) years before the course, or CPCS Test. Good understanding of spoken and written English. Facilitating Effective Meetings: In-House Training Billions of dollars and exorbitant amounts of time are wasted annually across the globe because of organizations' meeting practices. This contributes to serious performance problems for both organizations and employees, and it has a serious impact on culture and morale. But despite the costs and consequences, every-day people in any role have the ability to change that. They can reduce cost, improve productivity, and enhance their workplace cultures by improving their meeting facilitation skills. And that is because facilitation skills start in the planning stage, not in the live meeting stage. In this course, participants will learn that their responsibility as a facilitator is to be a steward of time, money, relationships, and performance. To do that, they will learn to estimate costs of meetings and practice a variety of strategic thinking and analysis tasks to effectively plan results-aligned meetings. They will also apply several techniques and strategies to proactively prevent and deal with conflict in meetings, as well as give objective, constructive feedback to others in order to create behavior change during meetings. Participants must bring laptops with them and have internet access during the course (both virtual classroom and traditional classroom). The laptops are needed for specific activities.
