Options All dental sedation qualifications will require you to achieve a balanced mixture of knowledge and practical skills, as well as demonstrating an appropriate professional attitude. To ensure dental sedation qualifications reflect the areas of practice the dental nurse works in, we offer the following three options:
Certificate in Dental Sedation Nursing
Award in Inhalation Sedation Dental Nursing
Award in Intravenous Sedation Dental Nursing
All three qualifications are at the same level. The titles ‘Award’ and ‘Certificate’ indicate the difference in the number of learning hours required to complete each qualification.

Classroom-Based Phlebotomy Training Course
To ensure effective training, our classroom-based learning is divided into two parts:
Remote theoretical learning (online)
For the first part of our phlebotomy course online, we provide in-depth theoretical learning which you can complete from the comfort of your home. You can go on to the practical learning portion once the coursework and assessments have been successfully completed.
Face-to-face practical learning (designated London-based office, with a similar structure at Swindon, Bristol and Birmingham offices)
As part of the practical training, you will receive practical demonstrations and hands-on experience to justify your role.
The practical learning part is divided into two learning slots with each weighing 4 hours of time:
First 4 hours session: Through practical demonstration using a mannikins, you will be taught how to smoothly draw blood, reduce risks, and control the patient’s reaction.
Last 4 hours of sessions: You will then have the chance to draw blood from fellow participants with consent while being closely supervised.

Facilitating excellent RSE sessions with people with learning disabilities
A fabulous four day (3 days face to face and one day virtually) facilitation course for anyone wanting to teach or support people with learning disabilities with sex and relationships. A course participant from September 2022 said:

Aim: To support participants to develop their current knowledge, skills and confidence to plan, deliver and evaluate relationships and sex education (RSE) sessions to groups and individuals with learning disabilities
Learning Outcomes: By the end of the course, participants will have:
• considered their work environment in relation to delivering RSE
• identified how to assess the relationships and sex needs of the group or individual with learning disabilities
• created an inclusive, factually correct, interactive RSE session for a group or an individual with learning disabilities
• used a range of resources and exercises to design their session taking into account different learning styles

• delivered a session to a group of their choice and returned to discuss this session with other participants
