Usually once a month, the 2024 dates are:- 2024 Saturday Classes: May 11th June 8th July 6th & 27th Sept. 7th Oct. 12th Nov. 9th Dec. 7th * Notes on 2-Person Classes Both the Tuesday 8.05pm class in Euston, and the Saturday courses in Westminster will focus on:  Learning how to relax  The use of the movements in Tai Chi Form (applications)  Applying the movements so that you maintain your own integrity (centre of balance)  Finding & working from the centre/core/Dantian  Developing the sense of ‘feel’ when working with someone else  Connecting your centre to your hands  Turning a partner’s energy around so as to unbalance him/her  We will also work on a 2-Person Tai Chi Form in order to understand applications of moves Posture, Balance, and Intention. By far the most important part of these classes is developing the ability to sense and be aware not only of one's own posture, balance, and intention, but also that of another person. Relaxation. Many of the exercises are ultimately about the ability to act from a very relaxed body and mind, so that (for example) if someone pushes towards you, you don't 'lock up' (the instinctive reaction), but instead you sense the push, and divert it. Initially it is this 'locking up' (which in effect makes you unable to move), that we are working on undoing. This is about getting more control of your sympathetic nervous system (fight & flight), the 'stress' system, so that in difficult situations, you 'roll with the punches' better.

This can cover fixing vocal issues or obstacles, developing and broadening technique and understanding how the voice works for all genres of music and singing styles. I utilise the Estill Model in my teaching as well as training and experience working with various singing teachers throughout the industry.

This course, will cover common vehicle reversing accidents and the crucial role played by the banksman. It’ll also look at the controls and actions that can reduce the likelihood of such accidents. The course will start by identifying the three main categories of reversing accidents - injuries to pedestrians, damage to objects in the workplace and damage to street furniture along with coverage of other types of accidents. You’ll learn about the role of management in preventing reversing accidents, particularly the use of risk assessments and Safe Systems of Work, plus the provision of appropriate Personal Protection Equipment. You’ll get an overview of the main legislation applying to banksmens’ activities, before examining the actual role and the duties of banksmen on site, including safety rules, controls and guidelines. The rules applying to drivers will also be covered, and we’ll look at the way drivers and banksmen can work together safely. Finally, we’ll cover vehicle hazard safety checks and the industry-standard hand and verbal signals that banksmen can use during vehicle manoeuvres. Learning Objectives By the end of this course, you will be able to: Understand the role and importance of a Banksman. Recognise the common accidents that can occur and which categories they fall into. Identify the key pieces of legislation that aid with the role of the Banksman. Implement controls and risk assessments to minimise accidents. Explain the different safety checks and signals that are used. Target Audience This course is aimed at those in construction or heavy industry that are responsible for the movement of vehicles. This could include site supervisors or managers. Painting & 'glazing' means to add colour & patterns to your pottery. Kicking off with a practical demonstration, we will take you on a step-by-step journey of the fundamental ceramic techniques of glazing (surprisingly there are a few). Each step requires practice but you'll be hands-on in no time learning each step of the journey as we go. We have pre-made pots to choose from, inlcuding cups, bowls and planters.  With your newly learned skills, you'll have what it takes to paint pottery and you can collect your finished works a few weeks later. We'll discuss when you can collect at the end of the workshop. All you need to do now is start thinking about your favourite colours and designs!

This lovely gentle introduction to baby signing uses songs, rhymes and gentle games to help you build the framework for good communication with your baby; good eye contact, gestures and body language, facial expressions and more. Over the course you'll learn some basic signs to begin using at home as well as some songs and activities to try with your baby throughout the week.
