<h2>Course Details</h2>Overview of the CITB TWSTC Course
This course complements the Temporary works coordinator training course (TWCTC) and is designed to provide training for those undertaking the role of temporary works supervisor (TWS), as defined in BS 5975:2019. The rationale for the TWSTC is to set and raise standards across the industry, and to enable a transferable knowledge base between employers to avoid unnecessary supplementary training.

Entry requirements
There are no formal entry requirements. However, delegates should hold, or be about to hold, the role of a temporary works supervisor. 

Assessment
The examination paper is compulsory and consists of 25 multiple-choice questions selected by CITB. 

It forms the basis of assessing whether a delegate has achieved a sufficient level of understanding to be awarded the Temporary works supervisor training course (TWSTC) certificate. 

The examination lasts for 30 minutes and must be completed within this time. 
The examination is open book.
The examination pass mark is 72%.

Length of Course
This course is designed to be completed in one day. Delegates are required to attend the full day (seven hours) and pass the end-of-course assessment to be eligible for certification.

This course explains the role and its overall management context. Temporary works on both smaller and larger sites can be high risk. The CITB Site Managers Safety Training Scheme course is designed for delegates who have previously passed the full Site management safety training scheme (SMSTS) course or subsequent refresher course, and can provide proof of attendance. It aims to bring health and safety knowledge up-to-date, as well as giving a thorough overview of the legislative changes and their impact in the workplace. The course provides an opportunity to revisit the wide range of topics from the previous five-day course.

Entry requirements
The refresher course is only for delegates who have previously passed the five-day SMSTS or subsequent refresher course, and hold a valid SMSTS certificate. Evidence must be provided to the training provider of their eligibility.

Assessment
Successful completion of the course requires the delegate to pass an exam paper at the end of the course. 

The paper consists of 25 questions, selected by CITB, covering all aspects of the course. The exam paper must be taken at the end of the course. 
Each paper has: 
• 18 multiple choice questions (each worth one mark) 
• 7 questions in multi-response or short written answer format (each worth two marks)

The exam pass mark is 81% (26 out of 32). The exam lasts for 35 minutes and must be completed within this time under exam conditions. Delegates are permitted to use the Construction site safety - The comprehensive guide (GE700) publication for the last 15 minutes of the exam.

The CITB Site supervision safety training scheme (SSSTS) course is designed for those who have, or are about to acquire, supervisory responsibilities. The course covers all relevant legislation and other aspects which affect safe working in the building, construction and civil engineering industries. It highlights the need for risk assessment in the workplace, the implementation of the necessary control measures, and adequate communication to sustain a health and safety culture among the workforce. 

Entry requirements
Delegates should hold, or be about to hold, the role of a supervisor. Delegates must be competent in English at site supervisor level. 

Assessment
Assessment will be by an end of course examination and the trainer review. 

The examination paper is compulsory and consists of 25 questions, selected by CITB, covering all aspects of the course. The examination pass mark is 80% (24 out of 30). The paper consists of 22 multiple choice questions and three short written questions. There are four safety critical questions in each exam paper. The delegate must answer all four of these questions correctly to pass the exam. The multiple-choice questions are worth 1 point each, whereas written questions can score between 1-3 marks. 

Delegates will need to pass all three elements of the trainer review to gain a pass. 
The three elements of the trainer review are as follows: 
Exercise - overall, thinking about the delegate's performance in the group exercise, did they work well as part of the team?
Has the delegate actively engaged with the course and the group? 
Has the learner completed the toolbox talk?
All three elements will be either a pass (yes) or fail (no) and all three elements will need to achieve a pass for the delegate to pass this element of the course.

In this course, students will enhance their reading analysis, critical thinking, and analytical writing abilities. Through reading the classic novel To Kill a Mockingbird, students will engage in a variety of activities that build both their comprehension and writing skills. By the end of the course, students will have read and analysed the book, understood a wide range of new vocabulary, and explored the key themes through producing short analytical essays.

Students aged 11-14 years old and/or working towards the Cambridge English B1-B2 levels
Non-native English speakers with a moderate proficiency in English

Guided by their tutor, they will explore the themes, characters, and deeper messages of this beloved story, while building essential reading comprehension skills. Alongside this, students will develop their creative writing abilities, using new vocabulary from the novel to craft descriptive passages. By the end of the course, students will complete a creative writing assignment that showcases their newfound skills.
